Re: Re: WDT 10/11/13 Yeah, I'm black, live in Chicago, and I haven't been arrested once. He really can't blame this on anyone else. I hope he doesn't get ass raped, but, he had a pretty mouf.
Hell. Pour one out for our homie. NSFW NSFW Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to go scrub with scalding water, bleach, and a wire brush.
Um, if we're going to interrupt The Dixie Tribute page with the lovely and talented Ms. Underwood, I would like to submit exhibit B for your consideration.
Re: Re: Re: WDT 10/11/13 He violated his parole, he is paying the price for doing so, I am not disputing that. I have an issue with the length of time, but that's another discussion. What I was trying to say is that while some of you may have never been arrested or had to deal with the justice system in any fashion, it's easy to shit on people who have. For those of you who have never been arrested, how many of you have broke the law but just got away with it? All I am saying is just because you've been to jail doesn't make you a bad person, although the overwhelming majority of people seem to think it does.
Re: Re: Re: WDT 10/11/13 The legal system is fucked. Ive only had to suffer one DUI trial I won because I could afford a decent lawyer. In the end my guilt was a line call and I wasn't going to have that shit hang over me my first year out of college. The legal system works on it's own time and it seemed like the friendlier the lawyer was with the prosecution or judge the more leniency they could pull for their client. If you don't pay to play you better be like my buddy who ended up going to law school and hope defending yourself doesn't get you a Judge Judy tongue lashing before you're sentenced.
Re: Re: Re: WDT 10/11/13 Counterargument: we're talking about someone who actively disdains the idea that he should be legally prevented from driving drunk. He believes the reason he has these issues is not because drunk driving is morally wrong, but because "FUCKIN' PIGS, MAN!" He belives he has been falsely persecuted and shouldn't feel bad because he's "never harmed anyone, nor have I caused any property damage." He actually doesn't think what he did was wrong, and he stopped doing it not because it was wrong, but because he didn't like jail. That's why he gets so much shit about this while others don't.
Re: Re: Re: WDT 10/11/13 Yeah. Dixie has five DUIs. I think your point doesn't really count here. And he's on probation until 2022. You don't get a 10 year sentence for a run of the mill DUI. Like I said. I can see he has an issue with the drink. However, it's hard to be sympathetic to someone that keeps saying the po-po is out to get him when he keeps breaking the damn law.
Re: Re: Re: WDT 10/11/13 Going to jail doesn't make you a bad person. It does make you bad at avoiding the cops, though.
Re: Re: Re: WDT 10/11/13 Good lord. I was all ready to jump on the trumped up jail time, but he's clearly had his chances.
I don't think anyone here would say getting a DUI makes you a bad person, I'm sure everyone here has driven home before when they were maybe over the limit. To a degree, getting one DUI is chance, getting 5 makes you a bad person, getting 5 then saying the 5-0 is out to screw you makes a bad person, getting 5 DUIs and having a young son and going to jail makes you a bad person. Makes you wonder how many times he's driven drunk with his son in the car.
Re: Re: Re: WDT 10/11/13 My five minutes in the Dane County Jail (Madison, WI) are a testament to that statement- at least the "bad at avoiding the cops" part.
Re: Re: Re: WDT 10/11/13 There's also several DUI arrests that he wasn't convicted for, and the fact that his total arrest count is in the double digits. And that he blatantly flouts the laws regarding driving while not being licensed (and speeds while doing so). Presumably we can draw a distinction between "wow this one unfortunate thing happened" and something that happens seemingly monthly?
I want to see Dixie on Scared Straight. "You gonna comb my mother fuckin' chest hair whenever I tell you." 5 DUIs isn't bad luck, or profiling. 5 DUIs takes talent. It's like he drove by the police station just to talk shit from his window. You know how hard it is to find a cop some nights? I kind of feel bad laughing at this. Not to kick him when he's down or can't defend himself, it's just really, really funny.
Think of the novelty of using your boyfriend's asshole as a clown car. As they said on cell block 6, "There's always room for one more." If we get nostalgic, maybe someone can post some Beecher clips from HBO's Oz.
Also, I think he's from a border town. It's a different world down there and probably takes talent to get all that Cop Attention as a white guy.
