How did everyone wise up? Is there a package thieves union, or a Facebook group dedicated to porch pirates? I liked watching the early videos, but when you spend $2,000 on iPhones, motors, sensors and glitter to discourage the theft of $130 in Omaha Steaks it was always about the clicks.
Just repeating what I heard. Doesnt seem too off the wall to imagine the guy being a local semi celebrity based on it. His packages have been about the same size. Like most other micro level crime waves as soon as neighbors and/or law enforcement overtly start watching an area it usually subsides. It was kind of gross how many women were doing it. I guess it's an easy non confrontational crime like how women are much more likely to poison people. In other sad crime related news. A highschool acquaintance was killed in a likely murder suicide by her husband. I worked really close with her mom for a few years. Just all around devastating. She was a year older than me and it was weird to see the news report with her age. Ive probably known ten people my age that have died now, only one was natural causes.
I wasn’t doubting you, it just seemed like an unusual level of awareness for petty thieves. Sorry about your loss. Death of natural causes pounds home our mortality- death otherwise at a youngish age just sucks.
The dude is an ex-NASA engineer who fucked off to YouTube to do interesting engineering projects... and is making a killing. It is 100% for the shits and giggles and YT video content. It's 3 days old, and already has 15 million views... and he has 15 million subs. Dude is making BANK off of it, so I would say the work he put in is worth it. Needless to say it is doing exactly what it was intended to do.
Christmas means Irish Coffee, as good an excuse as any to get a hyper day buzz. I get a six day weekend after Tuesday. And no kids in the schools will be nice and quiet, perhaps play some loud and abusive tunes.
He was also on the show To Tell The Truth because of the glitter bomb. I recognized him almost instantly. He did the largest multi-shot NERF gun, also.
WOOT! On vacation until Jan 4th. Took most of yesterday off as it was... and I'm now between projects for the first time in years. It's surprising how much stress has just up and left. Today was so relaxing that I just popped a couple bottles of wine, and made some home made pasta. REALLY tasty basil-infused noodles for tonight, served with some fresh salmon done with a nice blackened seasoning. Made a REALLY tasty alfredo sauce, got a buzz, ate like a king. Also made some other pasta with some infused garlic, and onion and sriracha, ground pepper and basil, and a few other varieties. So easy... SOOO tasty. Tomorrow I'm back at my home office reno. I have to finish paint prep, then paint the walls and ceiling. Hoping to get that done tomorrow. Then it's back to finishing the creation of my custom wall panels... that will be lots of time in the shot resawing some rough cut lumber, jointing it flat, dimensioning it, and then running it through the router table to do up a tongue-in-groove edge on the boards. And no work in sight, which is the best part. Hope all of you are getting some time off this xmas and relaxing and making the most of it.
I don't recommend eating them whole. I ate a couple of the really dark ones right out of the oven and now my burps taste like fish oil caplet burps.
I liked the one where he broke down how carnival/arcade games work and what the odds were on each of them. He also "cheats" at some of the games, first by building a machine that can perfectly time the Cyclone arcade every single time (which also had the side effect of proving the game is rigged) and bringing his friend who plays minor league ball in the Mets farm system to play the ball throwing games.
Good for you, man. I have about 3 weeks of PTO that I need to burn through starting tomorrow. I've removed email, slack and any other work communication apps from my phone.
Everyone, make sure you wear your mask. https://twitter.com/RubinReport/status/1340099167964688386?s=20
So a reporter ditched her career and divorced her husband to date incarcerated pharma-bro Martin Sckhkrellilili. Now he's ghosting her too after a new interview in Elle about their relationship. She's optioned the book rights for a movie. A woman with those kind of issues is really meant for a dude with his kind of issues. Match made in heaven. https://twitter.com/ChristieSmythe?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1340830402160828423|twgr^|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/reporter-says-she-quit-her-050116636.html
