I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to the Star Trek theme song for instrumental.

The one that would win for annoying yet catchy (because I know all the words, please shoot me) would be The Nanny.

Rush, I said Hill Street Blues first. Jerk. That makes me the most non-weird person here.

    Count it!

Gotta love Dukes of Hazzard 'cause it's Waylon. No Golden Girls love anyone? That's some cheesy 80s greatness.

I also love the curb your enthusiasm theme. I think the song perfectly embodies the cringeworthy awkwardness of every single episode.

That's not an original piece though so according to who ever started this conversation a few pages back. Doesn't count. If we were going pre written songs and fitting the theme of the show The Soprano's opener is by far my favorite, "Woke Up this Morning" by Alabama 3. The extended version of this is also far superior to the shortened released for the show.

I had no idea until I heard it on the radio one time that the theme song to Louie is really a song from the 70s or something. It's so perfect.

That's the trouble with the instrumentals - Mike Post has written so many good themes, I can't decide. Quantum Leap is definitely one of my favorites.

Or maybe something older? I love big band music, there's the Dick Van Dyke Show, I Love Lucy...and even the Price is Right theme song, that is one intricate motherfucker for a theme song in terms of chord progression.

This debate led me to learn the Cheers theme on piano, Crown, so I'll be performing that at my next gig in the bar back home.

If I play at parties with lots of booze flying around, sometimes I will dead-kill my set and throw the Cheers theme song on. It gets a bigger singalong than the national anthem and the chorus for Hotel California combined.

The new show Banshee has an uber-unsettling credits song.

Or WAY older. Does this count, was it ever a TV show, or just a theatre short?

Best instrumental tv show tune ever:

I imagine nitwit standing in the corner right now, banging his head against the wall as this thread continues. With "Yakety Sax" playing in the background.

One of my guys just uttered the following words, "I don't want anything greasy for lunch. How about something light? Let's go to Taco Bell."

    Can I get an Amen.

It doesn't just run through you, it smokes a pack of no-filters while doing so. It's no wonder they're going out of business up here.

I get a craving for that stuff maybe twice a year, and have to be smoking the real wheelchair shit to do so.

You always have a friend in Bea...

    It's SFW because ART.

My pick for theme song: Magnum P.I. because it just rocks. You know a big ass dude is going to fly around in a helicopter for no reason whatsoever, burning gas, and you know chest hair will be just all over the place.

Runner up: Jackass. Not classic in any sense, but that song is perfect for that show. It's constantly in my head.
