Funball got on me because the last chick I posted was wearing inappropriate socks. This girl is clearly not wearing socks. I have no idea what she's doing, but the important thing is she isn't wearing socks.

I identify myself as English, since my father's from England, I hold a British passport and my aunts both live there, but I was born in South Africa. My dad only emigrated here in the first place for work reasons - he's a jeweller by trade and back then (circa 1970) there were only four places you could work as a jeweller in the U.K.: London, Glasgow, Sheffield and Birmingham (where my dad did his apprenticeship). Since none of those are particularly appealing options (Birmingham and Sheffield are pretty dreary places, according to him), he emigrated here. Despite being a permanent resident and having been partially educated in South Africa (my grandfather was in the Admiralty and was posted to Simonstown in the 1950s - one of my aunts was born there in that time period), he's not allowed to vote. He could apply for full citizenship (my grandmother was born here, as far as I know, and my mother is South African, too) but has never bothered.

I won't support the S.A. national or local soccer teams because the selectors and national association are racist as fuck, but I will support the S.A. rugby and cricket teams when they aren't playing England. If England is playing (or Great Britain in the case of the Olympics or B&I Lions are touring here), then England/Britain gets my backing, every time.

I have a German last name, speak a respectable amount of German and recently moved to Germany where I'll be living for at least 2 years but potentially 6. Despite being a mutt I'm at least 10 times more German than any douche I've met who claims to be Italian or Irish and I would never claim that as my nationality. Cleveland had a shit load of first generation Italians and Irish early in the century and now all that is left are those people's grandkids who go around claiming the nationality of their ancestors.

Tangentially related, I rent from quite possibly the most German motherfucker ever. Dude's named Heinz and worked in a brewery for over 40 years. He showed me around town, making sure to point out all of the brothels along the way and gave reviews of each one.

They are also exceptional at falling in with the wrong crowd. And keeping the Euro afloat.

I'm full blooded fuckin American. Mostly British and German with one grandma that was Sicilian. We don't actually know what country one of my grandfather's family was from so we never gave shit about any country of origin. My immediate family all think religion is a joke so no love lost there not keeping with the hard core catholic or jewish great grand parents we had.

All I can say about the Italian families I know, besides the names ending in vowels and retarded patriotism to a country they've never seen, is that they are all FUCKING INSANE. Most seem to be legit manic depressives with the scale tipping towards mania. I also don't know a single one of them that can control themselves at all while drinking.

Ok, I have two days with fuck all to do, and am home alone for them. I want to binge on a show, but I can't think of anything to watch. Ideally comedy, or something mystery/sci-fi. I recently watched Hannibal and enjoyed it, and same with Under the Dome.

    Any recommendations?

(my answers are assuming you have Netflix)

Have you seen the two seasons of Sherlock? Each season is 3 episodes, which are an hour and a half each. So that's 9 hours for you.

Currently I'm watching Heroes, Orange is the New Black, and Psych.

For an older show, I'm extremely partial to Alias. I honestly don't care that the plots tended to be all over the place with each passing season. I just love it so much.

Edit- Ha, CB beat me to it.

NetFlix - All the episodes of Firefly + Serentiy movie.

Dammit. Now I've made myself mad. Thinking about Firefly reminds me that I've never slept with Morena Baccarin, one of the most beautiful women, ever.

    The I.T. Crowd.

It's only four seasons at six episodes each, and most people I've shown it to laughed themselves sick (especially season 2).

Try Deadwood or The Wire if you haven't. I could not recommend them enough.

If you access to showtime online or on demand, start watching Ray Donovan. It's really entertaining and fun to watch. It's casted well. And the plot moves at a good pace.

I've only seen the first season but it was fucking hilarious. Otherwise most of Trailer Park Boys is on Youtube so you can enjoy watching several seasons of that if you can't find it elsewhere.

The bridge on FX is very good as well.

Just started catching up with the newsroom last night, also a good show.
