so we're all being tricked into slowly looking at more fat, with the end game being just seeing a large mound of human flesh and nothing interesting 75, 84
Slowly revealing a nude, morbidly-obese woman is not as fun as I thought it would be. It’s actually a little painful.
@Nettdata asked to see the new whip. This is a yuba supercargo cl, which is a cargo e-bike. This puppy can hold 220lbs up front and 80lbs in the rear in addition to the driver, so I consider this a true car replacement. The bamboo box and toddler seat I ordered are backordered, but they loaned me the soft box and shoulder straps so I can keep kiddo pinned down while we're moving.
Did the shop mention anything about bike locks for when you're parked out in town? Here in DC if I have to lock up my bike, I use a Kryptonite U-lock and a cable lock. You need to run the cable through the wheels and frame, people will steal anything they can take off the bike including the seat. For a bike the size of your cargo, you will likely need a longer cable to make it from wheel to wheel. Hal is goofy, but he has the best videos on how to lock your bike .
I just got my lock in https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01107CH5C?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details and am waiting on the chain https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005UMCAK6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details and I came across special antitheft nuts for bike wheels and seats. Heard anything about those? I figure the rest is up to my technique. I'm watching that video now. I won't be parking it anywhere at night or in high crime areas so I should be good.
You'd be surprised where bikes get stolen from. The anti-tamper nuts help, but aren't foolproof. I'd still run a cable or chain through the wheels. Also for the rear wheel, run the chain/cable inside the frame triangle. It doesn't take much to cut a wheel rim/tire.
OK I definitely will be sure to do that. That's why I got the 6' chain as well, hopefully it is long enough. If not, I'll buy a longer chain. That somebitch is gonna be heavy. I think I'll get some antitamper nuts for the seat at least, it's just a quick release attachment and I don't want to bring the thing inside with me when we shop.
Has anyone else ever had the thought, “if thieves put half the energy they put into being thieves, into just working a regular job…” But yeah, people steal any fucking thing. I think for some it’s an addiction.
Thats why I use the braided cable. It's not as robust, but also not as heavy. the cable and the U lock require different tools to break them, the bike is as secured as I can reasonably make it. I think he uses old bike chain in an old innertube sleeve, but I'd have to watch again to be sure. That's one I use an anti-tamper nut on as I rarely move my seat
