For anyone into tech shit, the new HTTP/2 vulnerability is some scary shit. Google got hit with a DDOS attack that was running almost 400 million requests/second. That's absurd.
At least it seems to be something that they were able to mitigate pretty quickly. We didn't have anything affect our services, but we're also small-time.
Or if you're not rate limiting behind a WAF or something. Cloudflare got hit too. If they can't handle that shit were all in big trouble.
I'm so glad I don't have to worry about that kind of shit any more. We have teams that get to lose sleep over shit like that.
DDoS attacks have gotten to the point where, if you're not a very large player on the internet, you're either self hosted, and can't worry about it, because a large focused DDoS attack could bring you down no matter what you do, or you're behind a provider like Cloudflare/AWS/Azure/etc., and don't worry about it, because it's their problem to deal with.
We had another brand in our last house. It seemed like HVAC was undersized and the master bedroom would heat up ten degrees if the dog farted. It heated up so much faster than the rest of the house, before the thermostat kicked on. I forget which brand, but it did work great at keeping us cooler. It definitely wasn't as expensive as that unit you bought. This house, the bedroom temp is much more consistent. Which is good, because the one we bought quit working.
They send out a sizing kit first. The ring followed, after me submitting my size, in about 10 days or so. I wear it on my right index finger. It fits well and does not bother me during the night at all. The second night was far better than that first one. I imagine it will complete it's syncing in the next few days. @GTE Not sure which ones. Additionally, I'll pay $4.99 a month for the app.
