One creative way to incorporate veggies is to eat more turkey and dressing, throw the vegetables in the trash, and make room for dessert.
I preferred the days when stuffing was done in the bird and you didn’t take it out to finish in the pan. You just risked food born illness. I like juicy stuffing.
that sounds like a great idea, but the best part about stuffing is slathering it with gravy This year I will be in Maui for thanksgiving, which means a hefty dose of sushi and crab legs for thanksgiving
My man. crumbled sausage mixed into some cornbread stuffing is the stuff involuntary ejaculations are made of.
Decided to start training for a local marathon around this time next year. Fibula isn’t completely healed but doctor said I running won’t make it worse at this point. Sounds like a dare to me!!
I spouted this 5 GD years ago. Not my fault you people didn't appreciate my genius back then. Also... learn to celebrate your holidays in American units, and you won't have this problem.
Son, let me tell you about this thing called a 'knife'... you cut one of those muffins in half, and slather it with gravy, potatoes, slices of turkey... whatever your heart desires. It's like a Thanksgiving version of biscuits and gravy. Except the biscuits are stuffing.
I'll catch some hate for this but I kind of like the Canadian's earlier date. It has better spacing out from Christmas and it's more of a fall harvest celebration in terms of timing and what you can serve fresh from your garden.
100% spot on with this. Never mind the whole issues here with Christopher McRapey Columbus and that “thanksgiving” never happened in the commonly understood context. But yes, as much as I love “the holiday season” and all that shit, I would love it if thanksgiving was earlier for better in-season produce and all around better weather. If we weren’t in Maui where you gotta produce your vaccine card to get in basically everywhere, I would not do a large gathering here because I don’t trust my in-laws for shit not to lie about it and turn it into a spreader event. Edit: I haven’t had my morning coffee yet, can you tell?
Agreed. Between Election Day, Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving, we have our priorities all crooked. Election Day needs to be a holiday for all of us, not just kids, and Veteran's day needs to be in March (get it?). Thanksgiving can be 2 weeks earlier, because it won't matter to Santa at all.
Veteran's day and Memorial day need to switch. November 11th began as a holiday to memorialize the end of WWI and remember all those lost during that war, hence why every other country observing the holiday calls it Remembrance Day.
also, everyone who only takes their boats out on the lake on Labor Day, 4th of July, and Memorial Day -- and usually while intoxicated -- needs to stop fucking doing that. Or at least take some certification course saying they know how to not kill/maim themselves and others. While we're at it, can we get a few more holidays that revolve around fireworks?
This has been the mother of all Indian summers here in my lifetime. Another 15 C day tomorrow. (That’s around 63 F I think) I know that the bad shit is coming, but I’ll take this as long as it lasts.
