RMMB was pretty big numbers wise I can see not wanting to have it taking up time if you plan on doing something that doesn’t require an audience like it provided. Plus Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook were established enough they made message boards obsolete as platforms. I do remember the movie industry guy who was an accountant calling the movie’s model out almost to the dollar what it would gross.
