Maybe it’s just me, but I love that winter road trip vibe. That point where the vehicle is heat soaked and nice and toasty warm, but it’s snowing like hell out and it takes care and attention and skill to drive, that brings a smile to my face.
It's not a winter road trip until you're driving through falling snow at night and you pretend that Chewie just punched it.
We finally bought snow tires for the first time ever and are spending Christmas is the Muskokas. A perfect opportunity for what you’re talking about.
Thanks . But we will be skipping all that highway 400/Gasoline Alley horseshit for the back roads. Drive up towards blue mountain instead, I can drive highways just fine but I still avoid them as much as possible, I’m rarely in a hurry. Plus I get up at 4:30 am so that’s when everybody else will be on that day. I’ll have half the driving done before the sun even rises.
Despite all the political and health bullshit that’s going on in the world… I really hope every one of you Idiots is having a safe, enjoyable, and relaxing time away from work. If not now, then soon.
You've obviously never had a railroad track road trip vibe. When I passed by on the way back, the recovery tow truck had just shown up. The tow truck driver and one state trooper we're the only people still on scene. That leads me to believe the whole thing ended in arrest of the Altima driver, he must have been taken away in bracelets by the town police or county deputy I saw earlier.
One more trip to take all the little darlings home and then I'm off for a week and a half. A much needed break.
My favourite thing about this time of year are the circuitous email chains. DCC: *emails a rep with a technical question* Rep A: *auto reply saying 'out of office' and directing you to Rep B* DCC: *emails Rep B* Rep B: *auto reply suggesting you call Rep A* I just sent out a group email request and every single person on the list had an auto reply on that listed the other people in the group. Why are we working right now.
Weather for my area is either poorly monitored or hard to predict because every day I've checked the 10 day forecast over the last week it changes.
Rain, finally. I spent the last two days in Monterey in a Condominium at the beach to get away from the dreary Fog and constant 48 degree temperature. If that does not sound cold enough for you, that is with tule fog and it will chill you to the bone. I come back to find are having rain and maybe a break from the fog. Merry Christmas.
I'm staying inside with the aircon, heading for low 40's(C) here. (104 F +) Good news, Beer O'clock now starts at 7am
I just finished wrapping presents, which I hate doing. Pro Tip: do the presents for the small children last. They're less likely to comment on the bourbon-induced sloppy wrapping job.
