Another 100 degree day. Time for some pool action and some guava coladas

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. Missing mine especially so today.

I'm right there with you. Mom, my sister, and I have all been sharing our favourite pics of my dad all day.

    It sucks.

Been 14 years but this year seems to be hitting harder than most.

Notice the duct tape holding up the house speakers? Yeah, redneck runs deep in my veins.

The other pic is of me, my brother and my dad. One of my favorite pics of all time.

We spent most of father's day inside waiting for a weather window to go on the lake. Finally got out about 2pm-5pm.

Our murderous psycho cat had gotten bit by something, so I spent at least an hour of my day draining giant abscesses on its hind end. They appear to be getting better, so no return trip to the vet, hopefully.

It was a good weekend here. I got hubs a father's day personalized travel mug and a covered piggy back child carrier he can use with the kiddo. Then we went to the splash pad on Monday which was a good time. Bebe was more interested in meeting people and taking their stuff than running in the water but that's what toddlers do.

Now I am frantically building a cleaning to do list for my sister's visit in 2 weeks. If I'm lucky half of it will be done.

anyone find anything worthwhile on the prime day stuff? Normally I avoid it, since in my experience most of the stuff is like yard sale things they are trying to move out, or chinesium knockoff products. I decided this was as good a time as any though to set my to boys up with their first fishing rods and tackle box with all the pliers and scale and hook remover and telescoping net all that fun stuff too.

I actually ended up pulling the trigger on a couple of things from Amazon's brands because they were ~40% off and I was probably going to buy them eventually anyway. I bought an outdoor Blink camera kit and a Kindle Paperwhite. It looks like the Kindle is backordered until August, though.

Super excited for tomorrow though... first time out on my buddy's boat in the Great Lakes. Plan is to head out right after work and fish until dark.

First major "fun" excursion since this whole COVID thing started.

It almost feels like a first date.

that means with the supply chain issues, Amazon can’t do prime shipping. They don’t give a shit about the “safety of our employees and supporting our customers and selling partners.”

"Prime shipping" has been a week or more for the last month or so anyway.

I bought some fire sticks and smart plugs. Things I needed and was waiting for. I didn’t see anything else that really struck my fancy.

Nah, they're just all inside enjoying the nice, refreshing AC because our power grid works.

ha! Joke’s on you. This just reminded me to check if any solar panels were on prime day and they are! So now I got a jackery brand solar panel for about $50 off to turn my jackery brand battery into a generator.

Nice! Because we all know that's EXACTLY like having a functional power grid.
