    It's an old family tradition. My grandfather (dad's side) named every female dog he ever had Susie, and every male Butch. For about forty years.

    My dad did the same thing.

    I don't completely adhere to that tradition, but I did this time. My last female dog was named Dixie, and my last bitch was my ex-wife.

    Mom is joining me for the trip out, as she's never driven that part of the country... and once we hit BC, she's catching a flight home and me and Zoe (the puppy) are carrying on for a week long fishing trip in the BC mountains. Then I have a week long trek back home to Ontario.

    It will be a blast.
