Brady has been a dud commentator. Plus he’s got a weird “I don’t know what to do with my hands” thing every time they cut to him.
I usually only see still photos with him. There's something weird going on with his mouth. Veneers or lip injections or both?
Apparently he has had plastic surgery of some sort. Because winning 7 Superbowls, having married a super model and being insanely rich aren’t enough. What a douche.
Football sucks. It's boring as hell. You want to know what's even more boring than football? Baseball. "America's pass-time" my ass. You want to know what's even more boring than baseball? Soccer. I just hate sports. Get a real job. Guys who are no better than street thugs are making more money than I will make in ten years because they can run down a field.
I happen to disagree with you, but I’ll give you some more fuel. A buddy of mine thought that football was overrated and way more boring than generally thought. So he used a stopwatch to tally up how much actual action there was in a typical game. From the time the ball was snapped until the whistle blows over the course of a game. Just shy of 14 total minutes of action over a three hour game.
First day at work after a week in Disneyland. Fuck me that shit is fucking expensive. Kids had a blast, but i don't see us going back any time soon. Way to many people for my liking.
I won the pot last night! +$100 for the Disney fund. We are going in May. Luckily have family in the area and it looks like Grandma is collecting money for the park tickets so it shouldn't break the bank too hard. Flight alone was $1250.
My kid hasn't shown any desire to go to Disney. He's seen advertisements, and never said lets go. I'm trying to decide if it is something we should do anyway, simply because it's an experience most kids want. He did see an advertisement for a $1.2 million amphibious RV and wants to take that to the Bahamas. I guarantee that is something that we will never do, but I admire his adventurous spirit.
I'm taking a macro level look at the trip so far. Ive been pricing out tickets to parks, hotels, flights. We are saving on a lot of the big stuff. So far we've got a car to borrow, lodging for free, either cost reduced or free park tickets. Grandma is excited we are coming and offering to cover the cost of a nearby hotel with a kitchenette so we can slum it at Disney. You can bring outside food into the park. We will have a lot of costs around eating out and driving a bit, and only over a week. There is also a specific Disney centric activity we want to do that is going to be fucking expensive but we are doing it regardless. We won't do something like this every year, but we are finding ways to lessen the blow.
My wife and I have been roped into a Disney trip with her parents, her brother, his wife, and their kids next month. So far, her brother has had two bitch fits and either intentionally (or stupidly) dicked us out of about 400 bucks. Sooooooooooooo, I'm super excited to be going!
You are approaching this the right way. If you don’t figure out ways to cut corners, Disney is way too expensive these days. Okay, I’ll admit it- we’ve been to Disney World 4 times. Back when the littlest Missanthropic was 4 and 6, we went off season and it wasn’t crazy expensive. We went again when she was 10 and prices had jumped ridiculously, but we could afford it so we went anyway. We went again a few years ago when she was 18. A good friend of mine has a rental property 20 minutes outside the park and let us use it for nothing. It saved us a ton of money, and fuck it was awesome. A huge house with 2 master suites, a pool, etc. We were very lucky. I have no plans to ever go back, it’s so expensive.
A friend of mine was planning a Disney trip with her kids before the pandemic, and it got interrupted by COVID. She tried to re-plan the same trip last year and costs had increased by something like 40% for the exact same trip. It was madness. I was looking at the stuff she had planned and none of it seemed outlandish but it was something like $10k without plane tickets. Disney used to be a place where even lower class families could save a little and go. I know when we went, we didn't have a lot of money. Seems like it must be out of reach for a lot of families now.
When we went in 2012 I want to say it was about $6,000 for the 4-5 days. It was a lot of fun, and I wouldn't mind going back as an adult without kids or with adult children. But also I don't like to travel as much anymore, and the cost of it now vs then.... we talked about it, mostly to see Star Wars Land but I'd rather put that money towards paying off a loan and becoming more debt-free faster.
