I also had to look at that a few times to figure out what was going on. It does look fantastic.

Christmas Eve dinner is almost ready. Pepperoni and mozzarella Stromboli, fried Baccala, sausage and peppers (hot and sweet peppers in two different sauces- hot and marinara), baked ziti, and lots of wine.

For dessert later we’ve got pignoli nut cookies and pastry - sfogliatella, eclairs, cannoli and cream puffs.

There are three of us. And we are going to eat like kings.

I got fat(ter) just reading that.

That is an Italian Christmas feast. I have never had any of those foods on Christmas but now I am inspired. I had/ have no plans for tomorrow.

When we would have Christmas Eve at my grandmothers/aunts house, what I listed would be maybe a third of what we would have- meatballs, chicken, broccoli rabe, shrimp, eel, and on and on.

Merry Christmas idiots. I hope you all have a good one.

Jesus hell dude, at least you're closing out 2023 with a bang!

We're having leftovers tonight and the main course for tomorrow is cioppino.

Just finished and shooed everyone away.

Lasagna was good, but the real hit was the home made garlic bread.

    Proofing…

I roasted garlic last night and made some garlic infused butter. Sliced the loaf, smeared the butter, wrapped in tinfoil, then baked again until toasty.

    There was none left.

it’s been two days of making my rounds at my hangouts to see my friends, and then today was our Christmas with the in-laws. It was the usual chaos. Apparently my wife’s aunt was on such a tear before we got there my FIL told MIL to have a talk with her sister. Thats unheard of for him! I did it without alcohol because after three days of moderate drinking I decided to give it a rest for a day or two.

After all this time I did get the chance to try a bidet for the first time. Yep, I believe we’ll be getting one.

Tomorrow is Christmas here and then at my parents house. I wish we had some snow.

Anyhow, Merry Christmas my fellow idiots.

When my Dad had his heart attack, about 20 years ago, I had labs done and my numbers were “astronomical.” So I’ve been on statins ever since. The cardiologist I’ve been seeing doubled the dose to bring down the LDLs, wanting them at a number he likes for people with known heart disease. We’ll check them again and see if they’re around 70, perfect. Otherwise he’ll add a medication. So far I’ve had no adverse effects with the increased dosage, but a little irritated with my PCP who perhaps could have been a little more aggressive in getting these numbers to a more ideal place.

As I said, I know I won’t live forever, I just want to be more proactive considering a very extensive family history.

Another one of these for a neighbor Snackimus. I had just enough mint pesto left.

I am attempting deep fried apple pies tomorrow. I have never made them before in my life; I will be making them for the first time on Christmas Day. Really working without a net.

Two days of some of the worst waterfowl hunting I’ve ever had. Luckily only wasted 3 shells as it was one of those “don’t see shit in range “ days and not the “can’t hit the broad side of a barn” days. Was hoping for a Christmas goose.

    Happy Holidays everyone!

Did you start working at McDonalds ca. 1996?
Yeah, the hedgehogs are super realistic there.

Jägerette has a thing for hedgehogs. It makes gift buying super easy. Cute hedgehog thing? Buy it, wrap it, done.
