So I had my weighted blanket arrive today we’ll see how it goes. I went with more is better and got a 20lb one. I got a minky microfiber finished blanket. The soft touch of minky is really the last blanket fabric there ever really needs to be. Everything else is a distant second.
I understand why people like a weighted blanket in theory (womblike security) but would never go for one myself. My back issues make me a very particular sleeper or I wake up in so much pain. Side sleeping with pillow between knees, holding another to keep my boobs from dragging down, pillow under head with it rolled slightly under my neck for support. No dogs or humans resting, spooning, or otherwise touching me. If I'm feeling it I'll even tuck a pillow behind and slightly under my back. The lovely nurses at the hospital got me hooked on that technique. In summary we have a mountain of pillows on the bed.
My big thing is neck supports. There is a very thin sweet spot with the thickness of the pillow. Too shallow or too tall and it creaks my neck and it's shooting pain all day.
Napping with a weighted blanket is pretty comfortable. Overnight sleeping with it turns me into a sweaty mess. It’s also about 2 inches too short for me to really stretch out with it.
Yeah totally feel you on that. Rolling the edge helps get just the right thickness. My physical therapist actually recommended rolling a towel up and putting it in the pillowcase along the pillow for maximum support. My pillow's pretty good without that for now but that might help you or another idiot with neck pain.
I dont get what you mean by rolling a towel up? I have a pillow that has 30 years of cotton compression to the perfect size for my neck. If I sleep at a hotel with some huge pillow Im fucked. Ive been sleeping so well on the couch Ive lived with the low key pain the hardness gives me. Much easier to knock out back or neck pain with some doses of IBuprofen than caffeining myself to usefulness on a bad sleep day.
A quick google brought up this article that explains it a little https://www.spine-health.com/blog/ways-rolled-towel-can-reduce-neck-pain Basically your natural healthy posture has some curves. The rolled towel fills the gap in the curve of your neck so your head can rest comfortablely while your neck is supported. That's basically what my excessive pillow use is about. Allowing my spine to rest in a natural, supported shape while I sleep.
So last night, Jungle Julia dyed her hair blue - but it came out green/turquoise. She's disappointed, but I like it. In other news, have any of y'all tried the new "Scorchin' Hot" BBQ flavored Pringles? THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS REGULAR BBQ PRINGLES.
You really have to go to a pro if you want a proper dye job. And I'm disappointed by many things that are supposed to be spicy that aren't.
my wife picked up a bag of Spicy Ranch Doritos 3Ds. They’re spicy, like a subtle flavor followed by straight up pain.
No.They.Arent. I crushed a whole bag as one of my last end of the year cheat meals. Now the Taco Bell Ghost Pepper chips I had a while ago where mouth lava after a few chips.
How is it I’ve been a member of this board, RMMB and Phat Phree and have never heard of Chris-Chan until now? If there is one Internet personality that (in his own way) eclipses John Fitzgerald Page, that’s the guy. As soon as I heard of him I was suddenly made to feel I like I was the only person ever not to hear of him. Poor guy.
This isn’t snarky, but you should definitely Google it. The long-form history of that guy is quite a read.
“The most trolled person in the history of the internet”. I honestly don’t know HOW the RMMB missed this poor guy (or did they?). His ultimate fall is the fact this happened during the absolutely meanest, most uncensored time of the internet.
The video of Azealia Banks digging up her dead cat and boiling it to bring it back to life was just what I needed on a Wednesday morning.
