That's the worst when you have a great line and it falls flat. I can't remember what it was but the other night I landed a zinger and the Wifey just looked at me with a "Da fuq?" look on her face and still not sure how it went from comedic gold in my head to utter crap when said out loud.

We got some weather overnight and today.

Roads were a bit ugly taking Zoe to daycare this morning... and I ended up seeing something that boggles my mind:

    upload_2024-12-5_14-45-0.png

A tandem propane truck that couldn't make it up a steep, snowy, icy back country road, and slid back and jacknifed. Shocking. And that pic doesn't do the grade justice... it is VERY steep. No way in hell it had a chance of making it.

Winter driving brings out the idiots in full force... even the professional ones.

I don’t think tandem tractor trailers are allowed in the US. Much less a tanker.

It was still dark (7am) and I was driving, so image quality sucked due to long exposure and no stability.

They are. I subcontracted with Estes and pulled doubles for a few months. But they tried to keep me in the northeast and didn't want to reimburse owners for tolls, so I got out of it.

Aren't you from Ohio? One of the few states that can actually have triple trailer rigs. I wanted to do that, but never got the opportunity.

That is what I was thinking triple trailers. I thought those were banned. Too many crashes I thought? I’m no logistics person I had just heard they were regulated years ago and I don’t see them anymore.

Go out to Nevada and Utah and you will see triples. Plus in Utah on sections of I15 they are legally allowed to run 85 MPH. Think about that.

I've seen triples in Alberta... but they were an F-250 hauling a monster 5th wheel which was hauling an ATV and boat trailer.

I still don't know if it was legal or not, but you know... Alberta.

I see doubles daily but have only seen a triple a handful of times around here.
