And really, are we gonna split hairs? The only honest description would be “thing on you desk you pretend is a joke but is actually a thing you stick your dick on” So I mean, if you wanna get it as a joke for him, go ahead. But just know what’s gonna happen.
He knows. We ALLLLLLL know. We all grazed from that field. That’s why we have a near-destructive chemical dependency for them.
that’s confirmed dead right now. I’m sure it’s gonna be like 9/11 where they don’t know the total tally until much, much later with all the “missing and presumed dead”
Anyone throwing numbers around right now are totally out to lunch. Give it a couple of weeks to settle down, and we might start to get some idea. For now, the MSM is just number crazy because "more is better for eyeballs" and heaven forbid we try not to make it a competition with other catastrophes.
Sounds like they are reporting around 300k people homeless after the blast. I can’t wrap my brain around that.
Also reporting that the vast majority of their food is imported, and was destroyed, and they may only have grain supplies for another month.
this is the part where the rest of the world forgets their problems and differences and steps in to help by staging the largest humanitarian aid mission in history. or we could just continue being dicks to each other. It’s really a toss up at this point.
That kid and his crew are probably the best news crew in your country right now. He somehow managed to combine live news and real-life comedy simply by letting subjects speak and act for themselves. And talk about not being afraid of reporting from the lion’s den. I wish good things for All Gas No Breaks. I just hope they can keep towing the line they way they do.
Six more fucking days. This really is Sandy all over again. Looks like I’m going to be opening a hostel.
some more after pics it's hard to wrap my head around the magnitude of that explosion. And that tall building that's still standing? Reportedly that is the building which contains the majority of their grain reserves. Well, "contained."
Until power comes back (projected date Aug 11). The Generac is going to get a workout. I hope it lives up to its billing. Having been through this before, the real issue is the infrastructure in the area. Probably 50%, or more, of the businesses in many areas of the state are without power, so now we’re looking at mile long lines at the gas stations that do have power. Ice, gas and most food essentials will be a bitch to find without driving a couple of hours west. Many traffic lights are out (and trees still down) so travel is a pain in the ass. Its not the end of the world, just a major pain. One big concern I have is this forcing folks back into their offices and upping the COVID transmission rate. Edit: at least I don’t live in Beirut
