Okay guys, this morning, Jungle Julia said that she wants us to get married. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I want to be with her, but I don't like the idea of marriage.
Depends on who the breadwinner is. I’m going to guess you make more otherwise she wouldn’t be so interested in marriage.
Holy Cynical Batman. Women are usually genetically motivated to nest, so it’s a normal reaction by 90% of the women I’ve known... nothing to do with finances. They just want their man, officially.
What does being married change for you two? I assume you're already living together? Lil bandit turns(ed?) 18 soon so there isn't any custody ramifications there, right? So is it just a mental block for you? Or more of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mindset?
/u/haupt91 over on /r/wallstreetbets has some really, REALLY hilarious shit... https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/cmpo93/tendie_twister/ Dude is pure entertainment.
WSB in general is one of the consistently funny places on reddit that isn’t over-moderated, reminds me of TMMB in a way. A year or so ago some guy sunk his life-savings into crypto and they heckled him non-stop for it.
Never mind the moron who went full-retard on puts with his Robin Hood Account... zero KYC done by Robin Hood and he ended up owing over $100k on a $5k account. Wups.
Wow. So he used options he already had as leverage against others? How did RH not get in trouble with the SEC for that shit? At least he got out with 10K I guess.
They buried it pretty fast and basically said "no, you don't have to pay it back, just STFU about it already" I was watching it happen real-time and it was pretty fucking hilarious. Lots of "wait... you did what now?" Totally new levels of autism...
It was amazing. Everyone with an ounce of financial knowledge explaining exactly how there's no such thing as a free lunch and here's exactly how the thing might explode. And then it did.
But meanwhile he'd withdrawn a shit-ton of cash out of his Robin Hood account so they were only able to get like $10k on what he owed, if I remember correctly. Then things went quiet as RH and him did some back room deals to unfuck that very public (at least in WSB circles) fuckup.
The stock market is essentially a game where every time someone comes up with a new min-max strategy someone's grandma starves to death.
(I could have it backwards... maybe he got out with 10k and they wanted more from him... that might make more sense). Still, instead of suing him, I think they all just said, "let's try and forget this ever happened and make it so nobody else can do this ever again". Haven't heard an update since.
