Instant karma. Dude also looks and sounds like the grandfather from king of the hill. 70 year old man smashes cement truck, tells them to get off his lawn. Then falls into freshly poured cement.
Bearded Iris brewing is freakin' awesome. The Oak Bar at the Hermitage Hotel has one of the largest whiskey collections in the area and is right downtown. Ate some spectacular donuts at Five Daughters Bakery.
East Canada vacation is the bomb so far. I’m in Halifax about to tour the Alex Keith Brewery. I’ve been looking forward to this for at least a decade or so.
Keith’s Brewery tour was the definition of “short but sweet”. A beautiful building, fun tour, beer and..... live music??? No kidding. Our tour guides/bartenders also broke out into music and song a few times. You also got to drink like an adult during the whole thing, what a great time. Definetly my favourite brewery tour of all time.
Welcome to my neck of the woods! Go to Baja Burrito in Berry Hill. It will be closed Sunday though. Best burrito ever. And their queso is titties. Pepperfire Hot Chicken on Gallatin Pike, East Nashville, is my favorite hot chicken place. Prince’s is the one everybody loves, too. Five Points (East Nashville) in general for good bars, although it’s a little hipster-fied now. Drifter’s BBQ is my favorite place there, or Battered and Fried if you want the local New England fish-and-chips joint. Broadway is worth seeing, but it’s really just a clusterfuck of bachelorette parties and “Sweet Home Alabama” from every stage. Two places that are still authentic downtown are Robert’s Western World, and Jack’s BBQ. Their food is really good too, but the line is always too long. But downtown you will see all the music you’ve ever wanted to see. The Parthenon is unique, but don’t go at night. The Station Inn on 12th Ave. is a tiny cinder block building surrounded by sprawling urban growth, but it’s the place for bluegrass. M.L. Rose on 8th Ave. has some great waffle fries. The Yazoo Tap Room does tours of the brewery and tastings. “Dos Perros” is my favorite beer they make. Demonbreun Street near Music Row has a strip of bars, but I haven’t been there in years. There’s a shitload of food - I could go on and on. If you want some steak - Kayne Prime makes it really well. They also have a banana bread dessert that I loved, and I don’t like banana bread. The Opryland Hotel is fun to walk around in, to see the atriums and plants and what not, but the food isn’t good - except for the Old Hickory Steakhouse. If you can tour the Ryman, do it. Or the Opry House. Check out Union Station. There’s more, I’m sure. PM me if you are looking for anything specific.
