What about a beer that's been aged in tequila barrels? I think I have a couple of those stashed away in my basement somewhere.
I love good tequila. If tequila makes you have stroke face and you absolutely NEED a lime or chaser, you need better tequila.
I’m currently doing the tour of middle shelf tequilas, because I like margs, and I’m not gonna buy the top shelf tequila unless I’m sipping it straight. So I’ve been trying a new bottle each time to see what mixes well. My favorite so for is El Jimador, and this week I’ve been trying Bribon. Hornitos is also up on the list.
El Jimador was one of my favorites. I'd just pour some on the rocks and be golden for a bit. My wife, at 31, has just "discovered" other tequilas besides jose cuervo and is amazed they don't give her such horrible hangovers.
It's in most of the convenience stores here, but to be fair, I live about an hour from Shiner. If it came to it, I could probably get some shipped to you if you like.
I appreciate that offer, but part of the joy I take in seasonals is their limited availability. I think if I had year round access to some of them it would sort of diminish the enjoyment.
Just to give you all a little insight into how well my brain functions first thing in the morning... My son wanted Kraft deluxe Mac and cheese for breakfast. My brain says ok, whatever. So I'm making coffee and Mac and cheese. My brain puts the deluxe cheese sauce in my coffee.
The lapse in brain function didn't last long enough that I actually drank it. It was only a few moments before I figured out why what I was doing didn't feel right.
