The Baltimore thing was natural gas. Given the age of housing, it always kind of shocks me this doesn't happen more often there. Also, Kyle Kinane released a comedy set on Spotify, "Trampoline in a Ditch". Well worth the listen, he's one of my favorites. He describes getting kicked out of Calgary, being in an urgent care ran by gang members, and the prank of putting a mannequin in his roommate's bed.
Yeah, we had a drunk chick smash her car into a house and cause a gas leak. The leak was inside the house (occupants were off on vacation), and it built up and built up until it got sparked off by something outside the house. Just a LITTLE bit of damage resulted... https://globalnews.ca/news/5768211/gas-house-explosion-london-ontario/ Bricks were raining down from the sky 2 blocks away. It's a year later and some people still aren't back in their houses yet.
This is probably one of the least-understood facets of my job. When something like this happens, it takes YEARS to recover from it, and at an individual level, lots of people do not ever fully recover. The bigger the thing is, the longer it takes to claw back to normal. These folks in Baltimore will be trying to get back to where they were in 2020 for at least 2-3 years if they have every advantage, and given the location.....
Watching a live stream from another more well known author tonight, someone commented, “Walt! Reading your book now!” I got excited someone from this site was watching and recognized my name. Til the author actually named Walt chimed in. Oh well.
DC vs. Stipe in two days. This fight is to decide who is the best heavyweight in UFC history, and #2 all time (Fedor reigns supreme). No idea where I'm going to watch it, because I'd normally find a bar showing it. I'm pulling for DC ever so slightly, but either of these guys deserves to be known as the best ever. DC is set to retire at 41 and this is supposedly his last fight. Miocic is 37, so he's got a bit more gas in the tank (Randy Couture was competitive until he was 46). DC was only the second to hold two titles at the same time (McGregor did it first), and I would argue that the light heavy weight and heavyweight divisions made that much more difficult. Stipe is the longest tenured heavyweight champ and both of these guys are absolute legends. One of these two guys is the baddest motherfucker on Earth:
FTFY Anyone else see Tyron Woodley get his ass handed to him, a couple of times, on an obstacle course/fitness challenge by a chunky horticulture teacher from NC?
DC looks like he'll hurt you if he get's his hands on you but be out of breath in 30 seconds. Stipe looks like a guy who gets drunk, tries to fight people but slips and falls on his ass. Forecast for the next week Today 102* Fri 108* Sat 108* Sun 108* Mon 109* Tue 111* Wed 109* Keep it coming 2020. What else ya got?
They are both elite-class wrestlers who learned how to develop a pro boxer’s punch. So basically they’re walking weapons. And TRUE top champions of their sport. The first time Stiipe won the title was the best celebration in UFC history.
