I use RIF (reddit is fun). I can see Nsfw stuff and favorite subs without being logged into a reddit account.
Reddit Enhancement Suite is a browser add-on that makes reddit great if you're actually using it on your computer. For mobile, I use BaconReader which has been the best reddit app I've found so far.
One thing I've always found interesting on Reddit is, despite being a community, just how impersonal it is. I mean, I rarely even see peoples' usernames, let alone pay attention to them/remember them/track them through different conversations. I'm guessing I read plenty of comments from people whose comments I read previously, but unless it was really outstandingly noteworthy in some way, I don't remember individuals.
I only notice them if it's something I'd recognize from elsewhere, like a while back I ran into kato on there. Also, apparently today is national middle child day. Surprised they remembered us tbh.
Lol I just caught up on the Jeopardy! hosting. So after weeks of trial runs, the executive producer gives it to himself and a (sort of) reformed anti-vaxxer. Good stuff.
I use Reddit mostly as the second coming of consumer reports. If you need to compare two higher end headphone brands, Reddit is there to help you pick which one you should buy. Having troubles with your car? Reddit can probably help you figure out what's wrong. Need a decent list of places to visit in a state you haven't been to before? Reddit has plenty of townies willing to tell you what's good and what's not.
Exactly. I really enjoy the personal connection we have around here, love it or hate it, vs the stark impersonality of Reddit.
Just had a great dinner party with a close group of friends that have not gotten together since the pandemic started. It was so nice. I did up a bunch of sous vide and bbq'd beef tenderloin and chicken, lots of fresh guacamole with tons of fresh garden veggies... lots of wine... sangria... I just can't express how good it felt to have everyone over.
I think my eyes are getting old. I first saw this as "Just had a great Donner Party...." I posted a few years back about the sad state of the SS United States and that a company was possibly going to return it to it's former glory. This was posted a few weeks ago by someone who had just been aboard. She's still in dire condition, but they're still hopeful about the future.
I hope it doesn't come off like that. Honestly, I don't care about being a mod. I host the site, sure... Binary does most of the technical heavy lifting now, and all I try and do is keep shit somewhat civilized around here. More than anything it's just work. And, as a mod, you get to see @shegirl 's tits... there is that.
Ah, nothing like logging on first thing on a Friday and seeing not only was I mentioned by our leader, so were my girls. 101 reasons why I stick around.
If all it takes to get you to post more often is to regular mention you and your boobs, I'll add it to my signature.
Cause and effect, right? I post (more during football season) but if I can't bring anything to the convo I don't bother. I could try harder but my rack gets in the way and moving them from the keyboard every time I want to type gets old.
