My parents have now outdone my MIL with buying the worst toilet paper in existence. I can’t believe something like this has survived in a free market. It was like wiping with a dead armadillo or something.

That is probably better than wiping with a live Amarillo.

Who else got off work early today?!

Then I came home and did some more work in the hot-ass sun... So yay?

I had the day off, so I only had to do a couple of hours of work today.

Sounds like my vacation last week. The one where I worked anywhere from half an hour to 2 hours every day.

I actually got out fishing for the first time in almost 2 years... it was awesome. Watched my friend catch a couple of nice fish, while I just washed lures and drowned worms... but the day was amazing, and mission was 100% accomplished.

I worked on the 1st(our holiday). You are going to pay me the sat pay plus double time, so it works out to basically triple time if i work the stat. If i have no plans i am definitely going to work that.

    What a good weekend.

On the 4th, we killed a duck and cooked it in the crockpot for duck nachos the next night. I was again covered in blood. My 21yo niece has some overlapping homesteading interests and was really interested in helping process it; it was cool to have a buddy to hang out with while I mucked through skinning a duck for the first time. Later, fireworks were viewed from the deck.

I just said goodbye to my family and wish they could have stayed longer. They are awesome guests and so much fun to have. My kid and dogs loved them. Well, except for my brother in law, who is usually the baby whispererer. I have many videos of bebe running backwards away from him.

I had a super interesting Reno trip this weekend. Could have turned out better but at least I got out there.

Probably still worth it for the free sarsaparilla at the door.

I haven't actually been there yet. I was in Reno and I think the Bunny Ranch is outside Vegas.

It’s in Carson City, a half hour from Reno. Way the fuck away from Vegas.

It’s like 7 hours from Vegas. We know what you were doing.

Doctor called back. Broken leg. Basically best possible outcome, since it's left leg so I can still drive, it's fibula which isn't weight bearing so I can just wear a boot, and I didn't completely tear (just partial) anything so I don't need surgery. So 4-6 weeks in a walking boot then rehab.

    Happy fucking birthday to me.
