@Nettdata That's an awesome video. I love having some actual proof and testing on the efficacy of these various filters. There are so many marketing claims by companies and no one really holds them accountable for claims. We used to use the higher end Brita filter for a pitcher, but it filtered very slowly and couldn't keep up with our household's drinking water needs. Also, they are expensive. I switched to an under the counter filter on the water line for cost effectiveness on volume and lifespan: Spoiler But I should totally get a test kit and see what it can actually do. Our water tastes great but that is so subjective.
I’m just amazed at the ability of the ZeroWater filter for such a low cost. Apparently the CEO donated a ton of them to Flynt and stands by them as being good enough to use there.
I hadn't heard of that filter before watching the video. I assumed with how well it performed that it would be expensive. I'll have to find some of their products and see if it's something we could use.
It's been a decade plus since I was in that industry, but I remember the "higher end" filters having an NSF certification to remove the crap they claimed to. https://www.nsf.org/ Edit - Most people just want their water to taste good. That's easy to achieve as the particulates that cause off tastes and odors are large. It's the small VOC's and bacteria that are harder to clear out.
Water companies actually add minerals and other stuff to the water to make it taste "fresher", seeing as absolute water has no taste.
When I was truck driving, back about '09, I was sent to pick up some Nestle Pure Life purified drinking water. I sat beside a pond in their staging area for half a day, waiting. Eventually all the trucks were told to go elsewhere and come back tomorrow to pick up the product. When I got back the next day, they had product. And the pond was about two feet lower. You could clearly see the waterline on the shore from the previous day.
how well do you think the one you got for your shop would do outside? I'm wanting a larger fan not only for the yard, but to use when we go RVing, but obviously a huge one will be a bit annoying in the back of the truck. tempted to just stop by lowes tomorrow
I think the big one would do really well outside. 6500 CFM is nothing to sneeze at... and the one that I have that is 5k CFM is great. It's not super quiet or anything, but it throws a bunch of air without being obnoxiously loud.
I think the one I have would be great outside as well... I know I'd use it on my back yard patio if it got crazy hot out.
yeah I'm looking at that larger one now, and the price isn't bad for dewalt. Both my miter saw and stand are dewalt and everyone who uses them, especially the stand, wants one..... kinda like those rams lol
It seems to be pretty rugged... my fan looks to be powder coated, not painted... again, it's a much higher quality finish than I was expecting when I bought it. The real fan I was going for was the small, battery powered fan from Dewalt, and then I threw the bigger floor fan in as an impulse buy. Very happy with both.
dude this thing is a game changer fishing we also started taking it with us on trips, just because it's so easy to charge wherever and holds that charge for a good bit. I'll probably end up with a few more to put around the patio once we can safely get back to doing bigger gatherings

Y’all… it’s friggin Hot. I’m on day 8 with no power, and I haven’t slept more than 2-3 hours a night from the heat. Kids have basically turned to lord of the flies. Work all day picking up limbs, logs, and helping out others that are in worse shape than you. Go on a run to break up the monotony, and sweat so more. Try to find time to sit in the corner of your lot that doesn’t have any shade with a mobile hot spot to try and do some normal work since that’s the only place that gets cell signal. Then drink as much beer and bourbon as you can until the sun goes down so that you can MAYBE fall asleep while laying on a picnic blanket so you don’t sweat through to the mattress. But since I’m a dad, I have to say: If I knew it was gonna be this bad… “Ida” left.
