    I’m seeing a lot of conflicting and angry opinions on the trial. I think people invest too much emotion into celebrity bullshit. That said, I’m not sure how I should feel.

    Evidently, she defamed him. But now the #metoo crowd is freaking out.

    And a lot of people that I agree with absolutely nothing on are happy for Depp. So it gives me pause to as to why they are so happy.

    This feels like a case that we should have read one line about in the newspaper and thought "well good for Johnny" for five seconds, and then forgot about. Instead we've got people screaming on social media about how "that slut got what was coming to her" and acting like this some kind of personal victory for them. It's deeply weird.

    i think people are seeing elements of their own relationships, past or current, in the trial. And because of that, they’re way too happy or pissed or upset for one person or the other.

    This is nothing more or less than a nasty part of the divorce between two people who used to love each other. They happen to be famous, sure, but it’s sad nonetheless. So what, they’re good at entertaining us? Why are their personal lives relevant.

    hell, right now one of my sisters is in the process of separating with her husband. And there’s some nasty stuff on both sides, which is arguably worse than any of the shit (literally) that became public in the Heard trial. This kinda crap happens all day, every day.
