A licensed pilot that's been flying a 172, or something even slower, since they started their certificate pursuit is just confident enough to think they could do it. They could quickly run out of talent and skill in something like that.
I still want to hear more about the whole thing. The tower transcript they released has ATC trying to call him on his cell phone, trying to get him to dial in the transponder, and give them info, etc.. The dude has absolutely no clue about flying a plane, yet he somehow set that thing down like a boss. Amazing.
The Pilots Of America forum probably has it posted in a thread. I'm out and will have time to look later. I guarantee there's audio somewhere, even the cell phone portion. It would have to be, for accident investigation purposes.
Oh, yeah, I figure it'll all be compiled into a good YouTube eventually. It just happened yesterday and FAA is still investigating.
The investigation shouldn't take long since there really wasn't a crash. The unresponsive pilot, he has a looong road ahead if he ever wants to fly again. Some set of doctors, including an AME, is going to have prove he is medically fit to fly.
Perfectly designed crumple zone on the roof. Didn't even break her legs. https://www.the-sun.com/news/3731715/woman-falls-from-balcony-during-sex/

In no spite of the awful context, I LOL’ed at this one. In other news, this guy pulled off a “Zero Hour” plane landing in real life.
The really scary part is just how fast shit comes at you in that fast of an airplane. A lot of pilots have a hard time transitioning from something as slow as a 172 or 180 into even 50% faster. All of your info comes at you faster... you have less time to deal with things and prepare... major sensory overload. The fact that the guy handled it as well as he did, never mind landed, is amazing.
In the version of the story that Today did, they have some interior footage of a Cessna Commander. I have flown with one of my good friends in a 172, and he let me take off and fly a few times. That instrument panel and controls are so far beyond what's in a simple plane like a 172, I cannot even imagine. It's so crazy, I feel like there's so much more to the story that we don't know. Like the 3rd person in the plane is barely mentioned. Who is that mystery person? And, maybe he'd flown before doing secret drug runs, but had to play novice, so he didn't blow his cover or something. lol
There's a reason there's a saying, "getting behind the airplane". You start falling behind, missing stuff, making mistakes. And those mistakes start to compound.
LOL. Some people have been forecasting this since Evergrande started the forfeit. Their now junk bonds have been used to prop up tether, etc, and now it’s all gone to shit and has unpegged from the dollar. The conspiracy theories around BlackRock’s involvement in the crash are pretty wild.
I closed out most of my crypto end of last year for relatively huge gains. I didn't have a lot invested, but it turned into a lot more. Except my $290 worth of Shib. Still diamond handing that.
