    Just got home last night.

    It was a long, enjoyable time on the road, even if the fishing kind of sucked... definitely going to switch up the destination next year to head to a better fishing area. Our old-school lake that we've been to 20 years running is pretty well dead right now... as well as the other 6 major lakes in the area. They're all scheduled to host this summer's Canadian Fly Fishing Championships, and they are all dead lakes this year due to super cold winter with major kills, and then an early heat wave that has caused huge algae blooms. Oh well. I still managed to catch 2 fish over 5 days... the group of 7 caught 5 total over the 5 days... usually we're catching 6 a day each. Yeah... sub par to say the least.

    11k kms on the road, to BC and back, while Canada was on fire (literally), and yet didn't run into any smoke or fires at all on the way out or back. Passed through Edson, AB, the day before a fire broke out and the town was evacuated. Crazy.

    And I will still say that the best home owner purchase I've ever made was the on demand hot water tank.

    I swear I took a 45 minute shower, and it was glorious. It was a 2 beer shower.

    Glad to see shit didn't melt while I was gone.

    How'd you know? I'm giving them shit-eating enzymes an extra day to do their job before I clean it all out tomorrow, in and out.

    There's a really handy truck wash that only charges $50 to have 4 guys pressure wash the Airstream right beside the main dump station I use.

    That's a steal. I think the signs around here 4 years ago when I was working down near the marina advertised higher prices than that. Shit, the water by itself would be $50.
