    Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn pissed off some Trump fans on Twitter, so they dug up some offensive tweets of his from a decade ago. Disney, doing their best "We are shocked to learn that the director of Slither, Super, and PG Porn fancies himself an edgy humorist" impression, severed all ties with him. So now when Guardians of the Galaxy 3 sucks, just know that it's another thing you can blame on Trump's fan club.

    I'm not in Trump's fan club, but you know that was a response to what Twitter did to Mark Duplass, right? So, more likely Ben Shapiro's fan club than Trump's.

    Which, by the way, pulling up old shit against Gunn is almost as bad as what they did to Hader for the Brewers. It's totally unique and worth persecution for a teenager to say immature and offensive things that he regrets. I am glad my insurance company doesn't treat me driving today like I drove when I was 16.

    There's a ton of overlap between the groups, so I'd call it six of one, half dozen of the other. Jack Posobiec looked to be the main "prosecutor" on the actual retaliation front.

    2. It’s not to say I’m better, but I am very, very different than I was a few years ago; today I try to root my work in love and connection and less in anger. My days saying something just because it’s shocking and trying to get a reaction are over.
    3. In the past, I have apologized for humor of mine that hurt people. I truly felt sorry and meant every word of my apologies.
    4. For the record, when I made these shocking jokes, I wasn’t living them out. I know this is a weird statement to make, and seems obvious, but, still, here I am, saying it.

    I feel bad for the guy, and think Disney made a huge fucking mistake with this, and parts of me really want GOTG-3 to fail as a result... I don't think a lot of people understand just how instrumental Gunn was to getting them the success they had.

    Because we all know nobody is more wholesome than Disney, the most evil company on earth.

    I love how this is the new way to kill off your nemesis: find something they said off the cuff that is bad from long ago, and judge their entire scope of character on it until their entire life is ruined. As if the rest of humanity are fucking angels. If we could put our thoughts on a jump drive and turn it over for judgement, there’s not a single person you, I or anybody knows who wouldn’t be doing hard time in federal prison starting yesterday for what those thoughts unveiled. It’s no longer obvious example-makers like the recent blatantly racist on-camera assholes, now anything you say and do is on the docket for punishment.

    I guess once every single celebrity is ruined (since every person in the world says and thinks bad things), we’ll just turn on each other. Remember that girl’s ass you smacked in the seventh grade? You’re fired. Remember when you looked over both shoulders and successfully told that funny racist joke in private? Ten years later that offends me, you’re fired. Remember that time we had that heated domestic and you shouted me down for being smaller and weaker? Bye bye, career and kids. If we let even one person get away with doing anything, it makes all of us hypocrites.

    Nobody is innocent, so everybody needs to pay.

    The reason Guardians Of The Galaxy is awesome is because of James Gunn, period. Explain otherwise how the lamest and most uninteresting team in Marvel Comics (and yes, I have heard of both Serpent Society and The New Mutants) has one of the best movie franchises going.

    Hire him to fix the DC film franchise as a gigantic “Fuck you”.

    Which he would, if they did. Fanboys of DC have long desired to see Nathan Fillion play Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, who is Gunn’s best friend and fondest workmate.
