I love Eagle Rare, from Buffalo Trace, for sipping. But, that gets to be an expensive habit. But, I explored their family, because Eagle Rare is like older Buffalo Trace, and Buffalo Trace is like older Ancient Age. But, Ancient Age has a bit of a sharp edge to it, like you'd expect from cheap, young bourbon. Buuuuut, Ancient Age 10 Star does not. It is a few bucks cheaper than Jim Beam, and I think tastes a bit better. It is excellent for mixing with Coke. Most people have heard of Ancient Age, but not Ancient Age 10 Star. It's a little harder to come by. I have recommended it to everyone I know that drinks Jim Beam, and no one has come back and told me I was wrong. So, I recommend giving it a try. Also, it's worth posting this tree again . . . Spoiler
I’ve lost a grand total of 3 pounds in two months. Cooking at home is no guarantee you’re going to lose weight, but you will be healthier. Case in point my brother-in-law, who ate out three meals a day for decades and had a stroke at age 53. We didn’t eat out that often anyway. Since the quarantine we’ve been eating alot more pasta, and it’s harder to keep fresh produce in the house. Typically I would plan as I shopped, including each week at least one vegetarian dinner, at least one fish, and the rest mostly chicken based. My wife has been doing the shopping, and planning meals really isn’t her thing. Not that we’re eating poorly, just more calories than usual. I’m sure the fact that I’m drinking as much as ever doesn’t help.
not to add to the fire but I picked up a butt, 6 grass fed ribeyes and a small beef eye round for just under 80 bucks. Still no TP on the shelves, it’s just stupid.
The only regret that I have with my setup is that the boxes are so high that a dumping system like that wouldn't work. I suffered through it with my first box, but then gladly paid a couple of guys to do all the heavy lifting for the second one. Worth. Every. Penny.
I vote taller boxes and hire help to set them up. The higher up the plants are the easier they are to maintain, and the deeper their roots can grow.
So that annoying husband's aunt video called me AGAIN. We heard from someone else that gma was in the hospital so I thought, hey, maybe she has important shit to convey. So against my better judgement, I called her back. Never again. I forgot what a horrible, annoying fucking gossip this woman is. 5 minutes of information, 15 minutes of total utter bullshit while I had to keep a resting neutral to friendly face because I was on camera. I fucking hate video calls.
I have zero regrets having tall boxes... my back yard is full of rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, etc, and I have practically ZERO vegetable damage due to them. My thinking is that it's so high up that they don't see it, or don't get into it, so just leave it alone. I think there was one squirrel who figured it out and would go after my tomatoes... as every morning there was a half-eaten tomato on the edge of the planter... but I sniped him with the pellet gun and it never happened again. And I had a LOT of lettuce, swiss chard, and all sorts of other rodent-liking veggies.
@Nettdata I'mma take this over to the gardening thread. Don't mean to bleed into this one. TITS! BOOZE! YEAH WDT
It was just coincidence that it was low enough to dump like that. Didn't think about it (though I should have). If it was too high, backup plan was to build a quick ramp to move around and do that. If I didn't have that cart, I would gladly have paid someone else to do it for me. As it is, I just unloaded a yard and a half and am onto my last yard. Could be worse. Easy way to get some exercise and enjoy the friday.
Knob Creek and Four Roses has always been my favourite American whiskeys. JD was my go-to back in the cheap college years but I still love it.
God, I wish JD was cheap. Did it used to be? Or maybe my baseline for cheap is gutter, I dunno. I definitely keep it on hand because it is my personal favorite but if I drank regularly that would be an expensive habit.
