I got it last week. I feel like it’s one of the biggest leaps Apple has made in its camera quality. Having just had an 11, it’s amazing difference.
Had a fun weekend of cleaning out the gutters and making sure everything that might fly away was secure. Getting hammered with rain and wind now. They're expecting ~5 inches of rain today. Already a few mud slides and debris flows up in the foothills and this event basically just started. Customer give me a four pack of Revision Brewing Pour Decisions. 11%. I might enjoy the first one, doubtful I'll remember the last one.
Had dinner at an awesome 100-year old brewpub near me on Friday. Great food, log walls, fantastic beer, and I left with a growler. Then last night another Oktoberfest party at a neighbors house. Some marvelous bourbon and we floated a keg of Paulaner. Not to mention tons of good German food. And on the seventh day I shall rest.
The Rush Moving Pictures ale is 14%. After a long day of doing yard work and "winterizing" the house, that might as well be 24%, because one of those is kicking my fucking ass right now.
What does that look like these days- an unplanned nap, a lost evening, or emerging from your shop later this evening minus a few digits? I bailed last night at around 10:30, a little while after we killed the keg and I had one more bourbon. I was drunk, but not so drunk I couldn’t walk home. Just a nice mellow toastage. I’m glad I called it at a reasonable time for once. As usual a small group stayed up drinking until 3 am, including the host. He dropped off a few things we had left behind this afternoon and he was in bad shape.
didn't wanna derail the covid thread with this but it leads to an interesting discussion. would her antics be an issue if she was a dude? Keith Moon was a certified lunatic, and an asshole, and he's still a hero for many in spite of, or perhaps because of, his antics. I also wonder how Cyrus would be viewed if she was born in another context, without a musician father and without that disney actor background.
Her antics generally revolve around taking her clothes off and discussing her sexual preferences. I think that would be received even less well if it was a dude. In general acting like a nut is absolutely viewed less harshly if it’s a male performer. I think it would help if she didn’t start as a Disney kid, but we may not even know who she was if Billy Ray wasn’t her daddy. He crafted her career up to a certain point.
If the last decade shows us an example, had her antics been more "male" in their execution (public intoxication, destroying rooms, melting down on stage, extreme physical modifications, etc) then she would have been committed and a conservatorship placed on her. That's what happened to Britney Spears and Amanda Byrnes. Keith Moon got kicked out of hotels and became a funny, rock'n'roll story that people look back on with some entertainment. That kind of behaviour would have been stopped cold if a woman did it (IMO).
Fun fact: Billy Ray Cyrus blames David Lynch for how Miley turned out in one of the greatest leaps of whore-logic ever. Fuck you, Billy Ray, you fucking hack.
wait, a father legitimately blamed someone else for how his successful daughter “turned out”?! And yes, he is a hack. And a talentless one at that.
Yes. David Lynch have him a break by casting him in "Mulholland Drive," which sort of revived his dead career. He started getting guest shots on various shows, and Miley would often accompany him. She liked the showbiz life, ended up getting cast as Hannah Montana, and the rest is history. All because of David Lynch.
I meant the fact that he was "blaming" someone for his successful daughter, rather than, say, crediting them. In topical news, the US is now facing an alcohol shortage. I think this is hilarious. My wife has me doing an emergency total wine run tomorrow when they open though.
