It’s as if The Expendables of Whore Logic assembled to write a social media bio. That woman is so absolutely struck out for life. All friends and family should be bailing away from her like a self-destructing MegaMaid.
I've resorted to ordering in all the things, from groceries to the liquor/beer store stuff. I also tend to buy in bulk to minimize frequency and cost. Needless to say, twice I've had online liquor store orders followed up with a phone call. "Sorry, we're just not used to seeing this size of order for residential use... wanted to be sure it was legit before we shopped it." I do feel a bit judged when that happens, but then again I have all the supplies to last a REAL apocalypse on hand, should it ever arrive. Until then, I'm happy knowing that I'm keeping people employed. Instacart is pretty handy, for sure. The only thing we shop for ourselves is fresh vegetables once a week at the local "snobby" place, Remark.
Remark is good, but I like Sunripe even more and it’s practically across the street from us. It’s also never busy like Remark can be, I hate grocery crowds. If things normalize, I’ll be taking the long drive to Trail’s End again. The last real farmer’s market with real farmer market prices for this region. Worth it.
We've found that going on a Wednesday morning, 10am or so, there's next to nobody there, and things are nicely restocked. Weekends or after work? Oh HELL no.
It’s just plain smart. I grocery shop when the birds wake up. I am usually the first one in when the store opens or close to it, I naturally wake up early and it’s so stress-free when the aisles are empty. The only other person is the undercover shadowing me, simply because he has nothing else to do yet.
A friend texted today that he helped some neighbors hang a series of large mirrors inside a huge horse barn this morning. Of course our first guess was they were building a set for horse porn.
Beverage of choice tonight is a solid local brew: Got another foot of snow today, so these feel especially earned after clearing the driveway twice. Go Pats!
