Well imagine that, I narrowly avoided one hurricane, went halfway across the country and now there’s another goddamn hurricane headed for us. Stupid fucking nature
They are chasing you, RotN! Bad juju, rough karma. I can only imagine what all you got up to in your last life!
They’re not hurricanes, it’s just the rooster-tail dust being kicked up from all the cop cars heading his way. Never violate a public school restraining order.
no, you’re correct. Flew from Texas to Florida for a week. I’m on the western part so I don’t think we’ll get hit too bad, probably just a bit of rain, but we’ll see
Now I understand why people don’t evacuate for hurricanes. Won’t know until tomorrow afternoon if we’re getting hit the following morning or not. Right now, with it about 48 hours away, it could be a direct hit or a complete miss where we don’t get any rain and it stays off in the Atlantic. by the time we know for certain if it’s headed here, there’s only one road out of town so it’s basically too late anyway
What part of Florida? I’m there now. We are leaving Saturday at some point. Our relative that lives here suggested we stay and wait it out and have the experience of living through it.
I can’t tell if you’re talking about a hurricane or COVID with these posts. Tell your relatives this isn’t exactly a roller coaster they’re trying to talk you into riding.
True. Grew up in Sarasota. Spent many a day at Siesta Key. My dream would be to get a house there, just need a few extra 0's at the end of my bank account.

beautiful town. Spent large parts of the last decade in the area. Beaches are amazing and people are largely very nice. Between Sarasota and Naples/Venice area is amazing.
Some Floridians tie their roof down to the ground with long ratchet straps. Generally, they've figured out how to survive these things. You'll probably be fine. Probably.
https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/055155.shtml?tswind120#contents This is the best public info right now. I wouldn't send you anything that conflicts with local guidance, and I'll know more around 8:30 EST when we get our daily briefing on the shit show that is 2020. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCDAT4+shtml/310406.shtml? "3. Tropical storm conditions are possible along portions of the Florida east coast beginning Saturday, and a Tropical Storm Watch is in effect. While storm surge watches are not currently needed for this area, they may be required on Friday if the forecast track shifts closer to the coast. Heavy rains associated with Isaias may begin to affect South Florida and east-Central Florida beginning late Friday night, potentially resulting in isolated flash and urban flooding, especially in low-lying and poorly drained areas. 4. There is a risk of impacts from winds, heavy rainfall, and storm surge late this weekend from the northeastern Florida coast and spreading northward along the remainder of the U.S. east coast through early next week. The details of the track and intensity forecast remain uncertain, and it is too soon to determine the magnitude and location of these potential impacts, but interests along the entire U.S. east coast should monitor the progress of Isaias and updates to the forecast." My take is you will likely get wet and windy, but hopefully it will be at a TS level or less, and on that side of the state it won't be as severe. That said, I'd have my emergency kit ready, cars and anything in the yard tucked against the house or out of harm's way and be ready for some power outages.
