Everyone needs to watch Die Hard With A Vengeance so they know what’s coming on a global scale. And also because it’s awesome.

Nope. Not a fan of that look.

The only one I really liked was a big black epoxy pour for a killer olive slab.

    Something like this, but better.

It’s in a youtube video of Legacy Lumber, a sawmill an hour from here that specializes in exotic imported wood and custom furniture making like that.

I made one.... then never finished it because I suck at finishing projects. Was trying to find legs for it, got stuck, moved onto something else. Story of my life.

I remember the original one (at least the one that got the trend started) was done with glass. But then imitators discovered that a perfectly matched organic cut in glass and wood is hard as hell and they just dumped epoxy on the problem like they do with everything.

Exactly. I was tempted to do the custom cut glass one but then the blue epoxy look got a bit fucked out, at least in my opinion.

I've seen a few huge ones that look cool but it honestly doesn't match anything else in my house. I do not have access to cheap slabs to perfect it, either. The one I made is pretty small, maybe side table sized. I might find some legs to throw on it, get it shiny and try to sell it just to get rid of it.

There is some cool epoxy art out there though. Like some of the pen blanks I've seen are just gorgeous.

That.... is gorgeous-looking. I go crazy for perfectly cut and treated rustic pieces. Tiger bamboo, oak and teak have such beautiful finishes.

Here’s the video I was talking about.

Amazing 1200 year old olive wood.

And look at about the 2 minute mark here for the mappa burl table in black epoxy. Stunning.

Sometimes it's funny to just sit back and take a bigger pic of what's going on around here... in some ways we've really grown up and support each other, in other ways shit never changes...

Despite the little hiccups now and then, I do love this place.

Lol I understand that people get angry about politics, but I need to see what abneretta posted to draw such ire.
