That’s where you start buying better steel knives. For instance, all my high end Japanese knives rust, because the blades are carbon steel, not stainless. You have to be better at cleaning and oiling them, but man, the edge you can put on them and how long the edges last? Totally worth it.
The really high end ones have a combination of stainless and carbon steels fused together to minimize the maintenance.
Hell yeah. I have a nice full-face job that does wonders when making hot sauce. Doesn't help worth shit when you take that fatal piss without following proper health and safety protocols (wash your fucking hands!) but it sure helps with the crying like a baby part.
One thing I remember from attending super bowl parties way back in the before times: put your contact lenses in before you make the jalapeno poppers.
Somehow I got on a kick of buying pre-Civil War silver coins today. I'm fascinated by history and to actually hold something in my hands that witnessed history, no matter in how mundane a way, is cool. Not to mention thinking about what kind of transactions these coins may have been involved in over their lifetime. A dime: A quarter: A half dollar: And now I've decided to reach a bit further back in history...I'm trying to locate a decent pre 1812 half dollar at a price I'm willing to pay. The history one of those things have seen is amazing.
It's a bit low end, but I bought this coin. 1811...it was minted when this country was less than 40 years old, it was passing hands when the White House was burned to the ground during the War of 1812. Hell, it was probably used to pay a high end hooker and her twin sister to do anal while the White House burned.
My grandpa left me a roll of 1943 steel pennies. They aren’t worth much, but still a pretty cool piece of history.
I had a revision of my reconstruction Friday, including fat grafting using my thighs as donor site. Sweet fucking Jesus that hurts.
I don’t like narcotics because they f with my system so much. But I do have them on hand in case I need.
Stayed at my wife’s zillionaire boss’s Georgian Bay lake house this weekend. Jeeeeeesus. You talk about owning a “toy box”: a four-car garage stuffed with Arctic Cat ATV’s, snowmobiles, dune buggies, and two Sea-Doos. This was, shockingly, my first time EVER on a snowmobile. Or any of those things for that matter. They are... a lot of fun, not surprisingly. And insanely fast and powerful. They also had an operating ATV 200 trike, which I don’t think have been produced since 1986. I wasn’t going near that.
Toytoy, if you go for a Kimber 1911, I'd recommend trying to get one older than 2000 or get one made in 2019 to now. Kimber had some quality issues until recently. If you would consider other brands: For the money and if you don't mind foreign made, I'd say buy a Rock Island Armory. Or, a Ruger SR1911 for a US brand.
So while I was bumbling around last night looking for pre 1812 coins, I'd made an offer on another 1811 half dollar. I didn't expect them to take it, but they did. I now have two 1811 halves, the second one is quite a bit nicer than the first one I bought last night.
