I’ve played a few rounds of Heardle. Basically Name That Tune. When it’s more recent pop/rap songs, I suck at it. But otherwise I solve it in one second
Never tried quordle til now. That and nerdle are my favorite spins off the original concept. I didn't get it the first time I played which makes me want to play more. Spoiler
A girl I went to HS with is a teacher and had her 4th grade students draw an influential black person for Black History Month and posted some of the pictures on her FB. Holy shit lol.
This is cool - they found the Endurance down in Antarctica, and it’s very well preserved. https://www.wsj.com/articles/endura...s-lost-ship-found-after-107-years-11646821921
Yeah, it's pretty amazing. In prep for an Antarctica cruise I've been reading a bunch of stuff about it, including Shackelton's expedition. Very interesting. Even Mrs. Chippy, his male cat that went with him. (Chippy was slang for carpenter at the time, and the ship's carpenter brought the cat on board, and it followed him around like a nagging wife, so they called it Mrs. Chippy.)
Yesterday, I saw a commercial for a pregnancy test, and it was the first one where a teenage girl was relieved about a negative result, instead of a middle class thirty-something couple quietly celebrating a positive result. Progress!
I always assumed that was because most people buying tests didn't want a positive result so why market to them. I know that every time a girl and I needed to buy a test, we sure as shit weren't hoping for a positive result. 44 y/o with no kids so YMMV
They should make a commercial where a woman (any age) looks at the test, sees it's positive, and gasps. Then she checks the date on her phone, breathes a sigh of relief, then says: "Whew. At least a week left," then chucks the test in the trash.
Random question: I'm social media-friends with a girl I met volunteering a bunch of years ago. She's pretty hot, and occasionally posts pictures of her and some other attractive girls dressed up in coordinated, glittery outfits, usually with tons of face glitter or glued on gemstones or whatever, along with pictures of what look like dance club spaces and event promotions, usually for one specific club. It's very clear that she and her hot friends are not just in among the unwashed masses at these events, and all of these girls post the same event promotions. So my question is: is this, like, a job? Can you make side-hustle money being Hot Girl #2 In Sparkly Outfit At Club? Is it just free drinks and entry as long as you and 3 friends put on matching rhinestone bustiers and dance on the stage? She's not, as far as I can tell, a stripper or a bartender.
Maybe a drinks girl? Wasn't too uncommon in my area to see a booze manufacturers having hot girls giving out small shooters and swag at the popular clubs.
Depending on how many followers she has on what sounds like Instagram, they might get paid by certain places to advertise where they will be. They make the party look fun and full of other hot girls.
