Nah, you’re doing it right. It’s one of those things I’m already gearing up for as this little dude grows older. The hardest part is gonna be weaning myself off of my phone...
Oh, yeah, another thing he does is up the playback speed and watches stuff at 2x, which drives me insane. I don't know how he does it, or understands it. He's autistic with an incredible memory. He can remember how long to fast forward or scroll through a video to his favorite funny scene, even if he hasn't seen it in months or years. Total savant skills, and those skills extend to everything he does.
We’re all sitting on the couch watching Bluey because the small human has ANOTHER stupid cold and was up a bunch of times coughing and sniffling last night and we all feel like zombies. We try to use TV/screen time strategically but it’s definitely insidious and easy to let the amount of time creep up. Doesn’t help that he stopped napping so no break in the middle of the day and he’s more likely to be tired/cranky sometimes.
Because of weather, work and family obligations, I’m way behind on the garden. I finally got the soil turned this morning and added some additional topsoil/fertilizer. Strawberries from one of the neighboring plots sent out runners into mine, so now I’ve got free strawberries that are about a week away from being ripe, so I’m pretty happy about that. I didn’t realize we were doing the age thing again. I’m almost 58, and my only kid is halfway through college, with the tattoos and fake ids to show for it. So no cartoons for me in a long time.
Little NatCH has some sort of upper respiratory virus. We went to the urgent care yesterday because I actually thought he felt warm. So he gets some Tylenol and a just overly cranky. The TV at this age is something he sees and looks at, but doesn’t really follow. It’s mainly us watching it and watching him. But yeah, we gotta get away from it more.
I do. She gets to go focus on playtime while I focus on work. Believe it or not, the trip to her daycare is a great start/end of my day. And she comes home tired out and exhausted. I can’t do that while I’m working.
This is THE nicest weather ever for Mar two-Four long weekend. I’ve never been happier to have a trailer, in Grand Bend to boot. I’m also shitfaced. Time to make beer can chicken.
What site are you at? Do you have a long term deal or just for the weekend? Just curious how hard it was to find a spot for you.
Hiked for 3 days and didn't see the sun even for one moment. I'm spent, my partner is spent, and the dog is wrecked. She hiked, chased chipmunks and had a cookout on Friday, hiked and had an ice cream excursion yesterday, and then hiked again today. A few minutes ago she was asleep and her tail started wagging and didn't stop for several minutes - what a life.
Jesus what a busy weekend. Worked outside til the in-laws came for lunch yesterday, then worked outside all day til 3:30. I had just enough time to shower before we invaded my parents house for a surprise birthday party for my mom who turns 70 on Wednesday. We all showed up at the same time with too much food and drink, and she was definitely surprised. And she was delighted to have all the grandkids as well as their girlfriends and boyfriend there. Now I’ve got a belly full of food and beer, trying not to throw up. I was starving by dinner time.
