There isn't a hurricane in the gulf currently. There is a tropical depression. Chances of it becoming a hurricane are low thankfully due to a good bit of wind shear this time around.
It’s a masterpiece. My only big complaint with it is how fast and furious Jack goes off the rails, but it’s never lost its effectiveness to chill to the bone. Speaking of chilling, wifey got me an Aztec death whistle for my birthday. It’s terrifying and louder that I ever dreamed. This coming Halloween night just tripled in fun. You can 3D print them for those who are curious.
Triple digit heat for the next three days so we're skipping town and heading to the coast (Santa Cruz). Fall will get here at some point, right?
We're in that sweet spot for weather... almost frosty at night, but sunny and not hot during the day. My favourite seasonal change.
When I’d visit family in California as a young teenager it was kind of a ritual to go hang out at the boardwalk then stay up late watching The Lost Boys. In re: missing fall, we just went to the pumpkin patch in perfectly sunny 75* weather and then I waited in an inordinately long line for fresh donuts and cider slushies. Not a bad lunch.
The weather is freaking perfect right now. It's kind of like how Nett described. Nippy at night, high of 72 by 3pm. So lovely. I'm sitting here at another festival. They put me right next to another soap vendor so that's happening. But she doesn't have much in the way of goats milk soap so neener neener. Spoiler
Now it's going to hit Florida as a hurricane so I was wrong about that. Hopefully they don't get too wrecked.
This has been the best weather year that I can remember in years. A nice hot summer, Indian-summer Fall, the trees are still green in October.
I’m driving to Montreal today and none of the trees have really turned yet. Bits and pieces here and there, but not even a super colourful tree anywhere.
The larches have been beautiful this year, but we got some heavy winds and snow at elevation and it knocked off most of the needles.
That is utterly gorgeous. I consider myself a "plant person" and I've never heard of a larch. Thanks for sharing. So in random things that happened today, I was returning from a walk with my family including my in laws, and witnessed my neighbor being removed from their home via a covered gurney into the back of the coroner's van. He was gonna retire soon.
