I would imagine the same thing. There's a reason you castrate boars well before slaughtering. Isn't there some sort of parasite danger with eating wild hogs too?
Kind of. (CDC website) Basically there is a parasite danger, but only if you don't cook the meat to temp. The USDA says cook it to 145. CDC says 160. In 2011 it was dropped from 160 to 145 by the USDA. To be on the safe side I would go at least 145 for whole cuts or 160 for ground. When I BBQ I take it off the pit at a hair over 200 for both brisket and pork butt or ribs.
What’s better tasting: Wild Boar or Elk? I’ve never tried either, but these two are the ones brought up by most to me people lucky enough to have game meat, and I’m told they are on another level of heavenly. I’ve tried moose and thought it tasted like a great steak. Side topic: I know game meat restaurants aren’t necessary legal but.... they exist. There is one in Toronto. I wish they were everywhere. So how can some exist when I’m also told they’re technically illegal? The health arguments as to WHY they don’t exist in a wide base so make sense, but the whole thing confuses me. If they pushed them, it might get hunting for food the more respect it deserves. I don’t partake, but support it 100%.
Elk by far. Elk is one of the tastiest animals on the plant as far as I know. Depending on how you cook it and where it is harvested, wild boar is going to taste very very similar if not indistinguishable from the pork you get at the store. As to your other questions, there's a smokehaus near me that sells venison, quail, wild turkey etc. because it is donated to them by local hunters. Ranch management, and also some people are either idiots or don't have the freezer space so when they harvest a buck they just want the antlers and donate the carcass. At least that's how it is in my area.
So there's an actual debate whether calling someone "Karen" is as bad as calling them the n-word. There's a not insignificant amount of people who think it's just as bad. Quick question: if COVID only took out karens, would we still be sheltering in place?
Every time I've had wild boar, it's always tasted exactly the same. Regular pork flavor with a "sweeter" tasting meat. I've always had it in restaurants so perhaps it's just a similar way of cooking it or there is a supplier who everyone uses for restaurant wild boar.
Luau style (underground) is generally what we do with the bigger boars. They turn out pretty good, but it's certainly possible that we are too drunk by the time we eat to know the difference.
“Karen” needs to shut the fuck up. Anyone even thinking it’s in the same league as the n-word is such a fucking Karen.
It's just an extension of their victim mentality. Your fee fees are hurt? Is this the hardest thing you've experienced in your life? Bitch, get real.
So UFC 249, the one that they were going to hold anyway in like a week, just got canceled by circumstances out of MMA's control. Sounds like the government put up a stop sign. Then Dana White released a statement on video. Link to it on his instagram. His first sentence: "So let me start with this, Fight Island is real." This just got a whole new level of funny.
Don't forget Calvin Ayre did all that back in the early 2k's with BoDog Fight... he had Bif Naked as an on-air personality, etc, but it was all on an island.
I read this on a reddit post, so not mine, but makes sense: Calling someone a racial slur comes from a place of ignorance, you're judging them based on a stereotype. You don't call someone a Karen until they're acting like a fucking Karen. BIG difference.
