It looks like the current owners bought it from HUD last October for $60k. I'm guessing that it has a lot of the sort of problems that have been grandfathered in, but if you do try to fix them, you'll end up having to spend a ton of money getting it up to code.
*remotely safe foundation not included in price @toytoy88 quick question: does it say "As Is" anywhere in the listing?
might have found the first kickstarter I actually wanna back wearing glasses with a broken nose is all kinds of fucked up, and I break mine often enough that I have a legitimate use for this
Fall off ladders and shit because brain tumor knocked out of sense of balance (climbed shelving in the new warehouse today though, just had to take my chances and three points of contact). Sunglasses are a bitch though when your nose is all swollen and sensitive. I'm only recently able to wear mine normally again -- have to push them away from the face/nose and just let them float there when shit's swollen -- after my run-in with a chair.
Nope. My first thought was it needed a new foundation too or at least something like that. I'm sure something has to be wrong, but I'm not sure what it might be to have it for sale at a discount like that. Hell, it could've had a dozen people massacred in it last week with the bodies, blood, and gore still in it and I would think it would sell for more than $100K.
Finally, after more than a year of salivating over pork belly burnt ends, I have my own about to be ready. I cheated and did them in the oven, so they won't be smoky, but I didn't have time to maintain a grill today. Hopefully they are good. Sauteed kale and carrots on the side, and wine in my hand. Today is a good day.
My thought is that the home is located in a town of 2,200 people which is down from the previous census, in the middle of nowhere in regards to shopping or services, in a flyover state that is hot and humid in the summer and dry and cold in the winter, with no major industry located nearby. Who is going to live there unless retired and you like to do nothing. ToyToy, you have property in Modoc County, I know you can buy a small home there for less than $100,000 and be pretty much in the same situation as in Iowa.
I think the ultimate question then is does it come with gay roommates? Because if not I'm sure there are quite a few moderators on this board who would be willing to fulfill that (heh) position
Honestly, just keeping that place clean would give a person plenty to do. I guess a person could consider taking care of the outside and the yard as their fun time. The place has albatross written all over it, but it's so cool...and so cheap. But even I'm not dumb enough to take it on as a project of any sort. On top of everything else, just imagine the heating/cooling costs...scary as hell I'm sure.
I think it's both funny and telling that you felt the need to mention that you DIDN'T shoot a defenseless animal. What kind of "turtle" was it? Are you sure it was aquatic? Because tortoises can't swim. In other news, Jungle Julia found ANOTHER pygmy owlette. In the same spot, so probably from the same clutch. They're doing well in our care, pictures to follow soon.
Nah hubs wrangled the poop gator today. Don't you have a ladder somewhere you're supposed to be falling off of?
I'd like to say that he's learned his lesson about ladders, but we all know it's coming sooner or later.
