You know who I like> the boys on this here board, y'alll are always willing to lend a hand in my teims of need. And I like the girls on the board too! espceically my best friend ClaireV! love for everrrrrryone!
you know when you're drinking with your roommates and then all of a sudden they decide to "go to bed" except you know that's just code for "have sex" and then you continue to drink downstairs alone because your rooms share a wall? yeah......
You give us too little credit. We'd give you more than just a hand, regardless of whether or not you were in need of it. p.s. How much have you had to drink tonight? I believe there was a bet on the over/under for posting boobie pics, and whoever took the over may have made some money. Granted, that bet didn't take into account wardrobe malfunctions that prevented nudity.
Does anyone else Doug Stanhope? I'm drunksticated and watching no refunds for about the 100th time....never gets old.
Ooooh, I had a few drinks her ad there. I post my boobs a lot. When I'm sober. It'd proabyl be a bad idea for me to start drunkelyn doing that.
Well this is lovely. I'm up late ostensibly studying about atopic dermatitis and having a conversation with a drunk girl. I'll make up for it tomorrow night, I promise.
What the cunt is it about alcohol that enables me to go to bed drunk at 2:30 and wake up refreshed without the aid of an alarm at 8? It's like some weird reject superpower or something. Fuck knows I can't wake up before 9 during the rest of the week without complaint. Something about wine always give me terrible gas. I had a dutch oven going on this morning that could have killed 6 million Jews.
I might be a little shitty, but bear with me (and oops, if you're pissed at me for the last post, fuck off and get therapy - I was just funning you). Chile has just had and 8.8 earthquake. Whatev, right? Except I was with one of my best friends who has family there. We just spent hours on the phone trying to locate her extended family. I think we got most of them, but the aftermath is Tsunamis. Hawaii is expected to be in the path later. Heads up Sam.
Hawaiian Martini: 1 bottle Skyy vodka 1 bottle vanilla Stoli 1 bottle bacardi rum 2 sliced pineapples (plus whatever juice you can get from them) That's one of the only things I remember from last night. The other? "Skunk hunting" in my car. I remember rolling down the window and yelling like a banshee into the air as I drove donuts in the pasture attempting to destroy the one skunk that decided to show its face. From the smell of it this morning and the vultures circling overhead, I accomplished my goal. I don't remember the text I sent to my brother last night, but my phone does: I am nursing a very painful hip injury right now. I am not sure how it happened, but given that I have osteoporosis, I am afraid it may be cracked. Fuck!
I knew I had to be up early today and make a two hour drive to Seattle to meet some friends I haven't seen in years, so I rest up right? That case of beer in the fridge didn't think so either. And while I applaud myself for remembering to set the coffee maker to wake me up in the mourning, hopefully next time my alcohol fueled brain remembers to actually put the coffee pot in there.
6am. tsunami warning siren went off. We live in a 'tsunami zone' so we're supposed to get to higher ground. I hope the second floor of a concrete building is high enough. What's scary is what isn't known. Civil defense says this will be a "significant event". Six to twelve foot waves are expected for Oahu. Fucking siren going off again. On the hour, every hour. All the dogs are going completely batshit. Supposed to hit the big Island about 11am, so four more hours. My computer's being all goofy, but you can go to hawaiinewsnow.com. for the same info.
Well your massive natural disaster with the potential to take many lives and cause serious financial and economic damage has put a damper on me finishing a rather insignificant exam. Stay classy, Hawaii.
Here ya go. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/</a> Those sirens are scary as FUCK! The roads are a mess, gas stations are closing on the big island. No one seems to know why. The governor is trying to give some kind of address, technical difficulties of course. I'll let you guys know what's going on until the power kicks off.
Don't pull a toytoy and keep us updated. And go find Sam and tell him to check in too. I only have so much energy that I can exert worrying about strangers over the internet.
HOLY SHIT! All the malls have been closed! Everywhere! All Islands! The zoo is closed along with all the beaches. You know that the Honolulu zoo is probably about 3-400 yards off the beach in Waikiki? Are they gonna evacuate? How would they evacuate a couple of elephants anyway? Oh, and with the beaches closed, that means no lifeguards. Surfers are generally idiots so, I can't imagine any good coming from this.
Figured this was relevant: This morning a magnitude 8.8 earthquake happened in Chile. Pretty much all of the pacific is currently under a tsunami warning. This could get bad in a hurry. link to a story about it
I am late to the party but want to offer my input in case you haven't been scared into being a cat owner All good advice from DCC. I am a fan of getting a slightly older dog from a rescue organization, animal shelter, etc. You aren't having to work through the puppy stage of chewing, housebreaking, etc, but they may come with some baggage, be prepared to work with them, don't expect them to trust you immediately. My 2 dogs (shelties) came from these places, and they are great dogs, but have their own little neuroses whether due to breed or upbringing, it is hard to say. I will second the advice about the greyhound. If you have a racetrack near you, most have an adoption program and those dogs need a good home once they are no longer winning races and earning their keep (I won't get started on that tirade). They are used to being kept in crates except for brief stints so are pretty low energy and end up being basically couch potatoes. The downside is that they can never be off a leash outside of a fenced in area. EVER. Not even for a second. Their instincts will take over and they will go darting out into traffic to chase a squirrel (SQUIRREL!). If you follow the big dog recommendation, keep in mind the cost and maintenance associated. Big dogs require more food, more medications (heartworm and flea and tick prevention meds are NOT cheap), have big poops, and can make big messes. Do your research on traits of certain breeds. While every dog will have their own personalities, you can definitely see prevailing characteristics across breed types (for example, if my husband knew how much shelties bark, I am betting that we would have some different dogs right now). Look at health problems commonly associated with the breed (my sister has bulldogs that they have sunk a ton of money into for a multitude of problems....they were also about 3K a pop and she has 2....their life expectancy is about 10 years) It is possible to have dogs and take good care of them if you work full time, but you need to be able to give them the attention in your off time. My dogs are older now (about 6&7) so pretty much sleep all day when we are gone to work, but we work out their energy in the evenings with walks, play (they will play fetch or catch the frisbee for hours), etc. It will also be the end of immediate after work happy hours (got to go home and let the dogs out) and spontaneous weekend road trips. If you aren't willing to make those sacrifices, then a goldfish is probably your best bet.
I think the Dog is kind of a jag-off. He's probably on the mainland anyway. What's he gonna do? Give the wave a backseat cigarette and Jesus talk? Nothing else has changed except traffic is fucked. All the gas stations are packed. They're gonna start closing streets at about ten this morning. "Cast of Lost has been moved to the top of Hawaii's tallest hotel" via twitter. Whatever the hell that means. Japan just had an earthquake? Great day this is turning into. I was gonna try and grab a couple hours sleep. If you don't hear from me, the powers off or I'm bitch-slapping some big Hawaiian who's trying to cockroach my toilet paper. <a class="postlink" href="http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/us2010teb2.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/ ... 0teb2.html</a> No one's really talking about this one. It happened yesterday I think.
