I like to call stupid drivers "dildos". I wonder how long it is until my 2 year old son starts calling people dildos. Also, this. I know you're not supposed to post music here, but come here and stop me.
That sounds delicious, but I have follow up questions. Here in Australia, cider refers to a fizzy, alcoholic drink made from fermented apple (according to wiki you guys call this 'apple wine' and or 'hard cider'?). I gather that in the States it's something else. Do you mean apple juice? ALso, I assume dark or spiced rum?
Eh sorta. It is closer to juice than what you described. Cider is thicker and more...bitter? Or something? It's more rich. Definitely on the spectrum of apple juice though. To be honest they have little instant packets in the aisle along next to the hot chocolate mixes if you're feeling the need for a single drink. A big jug of high quality apple cider around here can be very expensive but if you're entertaining and know that it won't go to waste, it is definitely worth the splurge. Wikipedia to the rescue if you want pictures to see what I mean. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_cider . Damn, now I want some cider.
It depends, but in most cases it's basically slightly condensed, warmed apple juice with cinnamon. And yeah, a spiced rum is good.
Seriously though, if you are getting apple cider, get the real stuff, not the stuff iczorro described. Apple juice is just sugar water, but cider has serious body to it. Spend the extra $5 and get the real stuff. Hint 1: it WILL be more expensive. Hint 2: You must shake it before pouring. All the sediment goes to the bottom.
Hmmm I don't think I've ever seen what you are describing here. That makes me sad. Edit: I don't think it's a matter of money, I'd happily buy it if I could. I just don't think I've ever seen it in Aus, and I don't even know what to call it here because our cider means something totally different.
Weren't you also the one telling me that you couldn't find dried lentils at the store? You either have shitty grocery stores or need to expand your search!
I love that cider. I drive past 3 other bottleshops to get to the one near me that sells it. Cold, it's so fucking delightful I made this in its honour: (ok, my photoshop skills need work. Sue me.) Warm, it's... pretty good. Pleasant, but doesn't curl my toes or harden my nipples. And that's what I want from a winter drink.
Hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps. Or just use an old standby and go for hot buttered rum and add some fat into your booze.
Hot cider and rum is awesome. If you drink the regular cider cold and too quickly, it will give you the shits. But it is delicious. I also enjoy a nice cup of coffee with some Jamesons. Add some whipped cream on top and bit of sugar to the drink.
SG, the only way I am able to not feel creepy about looking that picture, is assuming it's you and you borrowed your niece's camera in her room. 'cause poster aside, the enitre rest of the background in that photo screams teenage girl.
You may want to try looking for unfiltered apple juice. It's along the same lines as cider, and I think, at its core, that's the big difference between apple juice and apple cider. Filtering. If you can find it, Bourbon, apple cider, and ginger ale is fucking delicious.
Oh the Irish Coffee. So fucking delicious. I also enjoy puting Bailey's in it along with the Irish whisky because why the fuck not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_coffee
I drank a cup of warmed up drug store brand gin in college on a bet. I wouldn't really suggest it, but you will get a hell of an ab workout shortly after slugging it down.
Booze cider was my first ever vomit-from-drinking and to this day it's smell alone makes me sick. That was 1995. Grower's Granny Smith Cider. It gives me Kafka dreams. Irish coffee with both the cream and the whiskey is bomb-ass though.
Pretty much without exception I've never been drunk on anything fruit based. Never been drunk on wine, cider, cognac, etc. I have been drunk on gin and the hangover the next day was maybe the worst I've ever had (albeit I was drinking fosters too that night). It seems like the hangover from anything fruit based is epic.
