Alright, kids... I have another cage match for you. Last time it was AC/DC vs. ZZ Top. Settle one for me: Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers vs. Creedence Clearwater Revival What say you?
You bring up good points Here is a picture for you Yep, it is Goatse. ________ And sorry if I'm fucking up the drunk thread for you folks. Boredom, kansas, good intentions, hell, etc.
If I can do it It isn't real poetry Crown Royal needs to chill Seriously, I get the Kansas, boredom, good intentions thing. If you can't haiku on a Saturday night, then life just isn't worth living. And Crown, Tom Petty, clearly. That is not even a fair cagematch.
This is actually pretty tough. I really enjoy Tom Petty. American Girl? Come on, that is a damned great song... but CCR is pretty damn classic in their own right. I, personally, have never met somebody that doesn't at least casually enjoy CCR let alone really like them. Counter-point; Wild Flowers is a disgustingly good album but Tom's last 4 albums have been just meh, in my opinion. Verdict: CCR by a hair and ONLY because their band dissolved at a high point of their career while Tom Petty's catalogue gets slightly (ever so slightly) worse with every good but not great album that he releases.
No haiku here, but good lord the last round if the Martinez-Chavez Jr fight was amazing. Martinez had every round won and Chavez nearly knocked him out in the end. Chavez was lazy the whole fight though. Under 400 punches for a 12 round fight? What a joke.
It's so close for me. I mean, CCR has SO MANY good songs. No other man in the world has John Fogerty's voice, it is omega. But Petty, I have to throw it to him. He is THE artist to drive your car to, and he makes songs nobody can hate:
