Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? CHATER SMITE THEM FOR IGNORING YOUR COMMANDS! You will all end up in the WITCHES BREW! NSFW
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? I gotta tell you, crock potting chicken doesn't work as well as just slow roasting it. 3ish hours at 275. Put butter under the breast skin. Should fall apart and be crispy as hell. Lemon gravy or roasted garlic gravy to go with it. I have a rotisserie attachment for my grill. 70 minutes at medium low heat, with the lid shut turns that bird into something magical. I only need a knife to cut the breast off the bone. Everything else tears off.
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? I now have a pound of wild boar. St Lawrence Market is awesome. I can't think of too many other places that sell kangaroo, camel, ostrich, emu, elk, rabbit, pheasant, venison and boar. On top of your regular selection of meats.
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? I'm not usually much of a day drinker but I woke up early, ran a dismal and piss poor 9 miles, have been diet perfect all week, so think I may be in need of a cheating, replenish my energy and resolve type of meal. Then perhaps a nap. Yep this afternoon is shaping up nicely
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? That recipe does look good. But it says to put aluminum foil balls underneath the chicken. Is that to keep it out of the juices? Or did I totally miss where they explain it?
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? Is it considered a nap or a continuation of sleep if I woke up, went downstairs, and fell asleep on the couch for another half hour? House is cleaned, boyfriend is out getting groceries, then we're ripping out the garden. It was such a waste of our time this year. I might as well just salt the soil and be done with it.
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? I dragged my hungover ass into lab this morning. I really don't feel like being productive now. I just want to watch bad TV and drink. And listen to Rhett Miller. I'm seeing him next weekend and wishing it was THIS weekend. Bah.
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mobil...eback-detroit-thanksgiving-nfl_n_1077054.html Not sure if anyone has seen that yet but it's the funniest article I've seen in a while. You know you fail at life when DETROIT wants nothing to do with you.
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? Isn't that the point of crockpots? To stew shit? I'd like to slow cook it in the crockpot and then pull it out and broil it to get it crispy on the outside - but I know how much of a klutz I am and the chances of me successfully moving it from the crockpot into the oven are zero.
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? Son of a bitch. From the article: Man, if he were alive, he would be pissed about that. "What is it with people dying of 'complications?' What is that? Thousands of people go in for surgery each year. Most of them come out OK, but a good percentage of them end up dying of "complications." Surgeries are certainly complicated, but can't we do better than that? It just sounds like a big excuse for doctors and nurses to cover up their screw-ups. It would be more correct to say that they died of mistakes. But nobody wants to say that..." And on a Saturday, too... "Have you ever noticed that, when you watch the news, nothing really happens on the weekends? Half of the evening newscast is taken up with human interest stories and high-school sports reports. By 6:15, you're listening to some talking head drone on about a bunch of puppies that got adopted. Who cares? The ones that are really disadvantaged by this are the famous people that die on weekends. Nobody notices, and by Monday they've been completely forgotten. It'll probably be years before the general population realized they died at all..."
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? Cloudy and snowing in the desert? I guess it's good for my productivity levels. Bum knee AND bad weather? Oooh shit. I'll get it done now so I can go out and embarrass myself later.
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? I'm sorry for double posting (see: upcoming movies thread) but this is too awesome not to spam. Has Uwe Boll made a watchable movie? Possibly.
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? The last chicken I did in the crockpot I put whole skin on potatoes under the chicken to elevate it out of the juices.
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? Chuck and Larry isn't all that funny. But what it does, it does well. Spoiler Spoiler And more goodness: Spoiler Spoiler
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? I remember seeing those last two as part of a movie clip, but I can't remember what movie.
Re: Weekend Drunk Thread, Nov 4-6? Powderblue. If Jessica Biel doesn't name her son Batmo then she fails at weird celebrity names.
