Hey, don't a few people on here live in New Haven? I'm moving a bunch of stuff into storage today and tomorrow and my help just bailed on me. Anybody local feel like making a couple bucks? Nothing very heavy and elevators at both ends.
How the hell would this work? Seriously. At first glance, "Hey, that could be fucking fun for a while". But how the hell is it going to have a sufficient air exchange while remaining waterproof? Want want want want want NOW
Maybe thats why it says this. "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock." I can hear it now. "Aw, look hunny. Little Johnny played in his ball so much he got tired and is taking a nap. Get the camera. We can take a picture for Facebook."
On the other hand, it would make an interesting punishment tool. "Dammit, Jimmy eat your peas or you can spend the night on the lake in the hamster ball!" Except for, you know, the whole suffocation thing. God, once I have a degree and a good job that website is going to bankrupt me. That is, once I build the entire Star Wars Lego collection. A serious question, am I the only person here who gets a serious yearning for buying and building one of those 50k piece Lego sets just for the hell of it? I wouldn't even keep it, I'd just build it and offer it for sale on Craigslist.
Here's one in action. Carlos looks like a drunk monkey. I used to think I wanted one of these to pull behind my jetski.
That would definitely work better on a lake. The tide makes it impossible to balance, and from the video you can tell he's pretty much sitting in the same spot.
I think both of those have been restricted legally in different regions as they are both dangerous as fuck. The hamster ball for the exact reason Nitwit describes.
I found my current job through a temp agency three years ago. They're a great way to get your foot in the door if you can go temp to perm. Companies may be more comfortable hiring through them since the agency has already done an interview with you and knows what jobs would be a good fit based on your skill set.
I guess my biggest thing is that I don't want to be sitting in our apartment by myself while he works all day and I look for a "real" job. I need to be working and making money. I've applied for several jobs in my field, one of which I was really excited about, but I haven't heard anything back yet. I'm going to stop BL1Y'ing this thread now... Spoiler
Another of the videos from the dude that did the "would you look at this?!" video. "You ain't scared of me!! Ill kick your neck off boy!"
I'm slightly more optimistic than Ballsack with going temp to perm, but he's absolutely right that they want you as a temp is so they can get rid of you at any moment for any reason. That said, if you work hard and do your job it's a great way to get a chance to prove yourself without a big risk on the company's part. A few companies are only hiring temps for entry level work before making them full time with benefits (which won't be important for you with a husband in the military), they kind of use it as an extended on the job interview. Speaking of benefits, if it's a smaller company and you make it to the negotiation phase, assuming I'm right about your situation you might want to mention you don't need medical benefits, they might give you a better starting pay or a yearly bonus for not taking coverage. I think I remember you expressing interest in subbing as well, I know in CT we have a company that specializes in placing subs so you don't have to deal with each individual school district, not sure if you have one near you, but a lot of people I know rave about them.
Its very quiet in my house right now. I really want it to stay this way for at least the next five hours...that would be great.
Doing some googling about military stuff, I came across Professional Soldiers. When I went to register an account for lurking purposes, the page said my email has been banned by the administrator. Today is the first time I've ever visited that site. What the fuck?
Huh. I'm a member over there. It could be you need to register with a non-free e-mail address. They do that to keep out the riff raff.
It was a hotmail address, gmail worked fine. Either someone from TMMB is an admin there and hates me based on my TMMB posts years ago, or they just don't like hotmail. Either one would be reasonable, honestly.
