    CNN talking to a reporter on the ground, saying the supporters are shouting "Jihad, jihad, prepare for your martyrdom soon!"

    You can hear the machine gun fire in the background. Anderson Cooper is talking from the basement of some hotel (apparently going to show footage of him getting his ass whopped), while they're showing live footage of tahrir square and what appears to be a line of supports trying to hold position in front of a statue.

    Cooper's with two other reporters who were beat up with him, they're talking to the cameras while all hunkered down, minimal television light in what appears to be a fairly small room. I've rarely/never seen reporters scared like this (they know what they're signing up for).... it's kind of scary, not gonna lie.

    All of the news reports that I hear on Al Jazeera is audio only, so I don't get the same vivid fear that you do when you see the American reporters huddling in a basement. I remember one eye witness saying something about "oh we're fine, there's a barricade right here that we can jump behind if need be." Pretty terrifying, and they seem so calm.

    Man listening to all the automatic gunfire on AJE has my nerves pretty raw. I can't turn away though.

    The sound of gunfire has been pretty steady on the AJE stream and it sounds like it is pushing some of the anti-government protesters off the bridge? I think they said bridge.

    The reporter said that she could see tracer fire, but they still haven't really answered the question of who is doing the shooting. Police? Military?

    If anyone wants to see some fucked up shit, turn on CNN.

    They're showing live pictures of two ambulances entering the square, people started mobbing the back of them, this one dude started kicking people, and then he got jumped.

    Anderson Cooper looks SCARED AS FUCK. Like, not for drama, I mean this dude is legitimately fearing for his life.

    Fuck.

    He just keeps asking the person he's talking to "are you scared?.... are you scared?"

    Fuck.

    Seems like it's really hard to tell. Apparently some of the protesters have handguns, the military is shooting rounds in the air and the pro-government people obviously have weapons.

    On MSNBC Brian Williams and Richard Engle are preoccupied with some guy in his truck. They definitely dont have a good line of sight to whats happening from where they are.

    Two more ambulances are entering the square. They're showing live video from... I'm not sure where, helicopters?

    There was a group of guys carrying an obviously wounded dude toward the ambulances. Bandage and blood on his head, his stomach looked like it had some major injuries too.

    I'm watching CNN, anyone else want to see some fucked up stuff.

    I'll keep posting to this thread as much as I can to update while this stuff is going on. Excuse the typos and poor sentence structure. I'm trying to type fast.

    Anderson Cooper's talking about his team getting a barricade setup for their area where they are reporting from now.

    They just showed the live footage of him getting his ass kicked. Messed up. You could see people getting some solid hits in there.... wow

    This is some crazy awesome journalism. I'm getting the same feeling now I got watching the footage of the chilean miners coming up... like I'm watching something I'm gonna remember for a long, long time.

    Ok, there's a lot of fires now. I counted at least six in one shot. Molotov cocktails it looks like. Or something they're throwing through the air. Also looks like there's more people pouring into the square.

    US just put out a statement basically saying "All Americans in Egypt, GET THE FUCK OUT NOW!!!!"

    But you're right. This is something that is going to be in my mind for a long time.

    Can't imagine what I would be doing if I was over there. I would hope I would be in the square fighting the good fight, but the whole thing is one irrational douchebag away from turning into a fucking massacre. I'm surprised it hasn't yet to be honest.

    Been watching the videos throughout the day, and I noticed something. A lot of these people dont know how to make molotov cocktails. The lion's share of the ones Ive seen would just fly up and just land without exploding and burn slowly. How do you fuck up gasoline in a glass bottle with a soaked rag?

    Still showing live footage, one of the idiots is running around with fire on what looks like a stick, setting shit ablaze. There's a car or van on fire in the middle of the street.

    SHIT! Now they're showing a tape of some dude with a massive fucking gash in his head getting stitched, right there on the street.

    I'm watching CNN, and there's about a 1-2 minute lag between anything major I see, and what I'm posting for others on here.

    If anyone wants me to stop with this, let me know.

    This is some serious shit right now, and escalating VERY quickly. Anderson Cooper, the chick and the dude next to him, need to get an award for this shit. I don't know or really care if fox or msnbc or whatever have similar coverage; this is what I'm watching now; it's working.

    Oh god this is getting bad....

    In other news CNN was just reporting that a system has been developed where people are hacking up the road at the back and bringing it forward in buckets to use as ammunition. I feel like they said it was the protestors but I could be mistaken and it could be the pro-mubarak side

    Is it just me, or does the whole "let's stand on opposite sides of these shoddy 'barricades' and throw rocks and shit and shout at each other" sound like a terribly juvenile idea?

    I mean really, stick anyone out there with any semblance of strategical awareness and they'll just own the crap out of that place. Has anyone thought of... you know, taking a group from the back (where the opponents won't notice) and attacking their flanks?

    Maybe instead of stopping cars, flipping them over, and lighting them on fire, how about you light them on fire, aim them at the opposition, toss a brick on the gas pedal and bail?

    Maybe instead of standing in the street where you're just begging to get fucked, how about everyone goes and hides in the hotels and buildings and shit where there's more protection and fights from there?

    Uh, Egypt.... YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.
