Is that what happened in this video also? Clearly not.

There have been reports of police using cars in hit-and-runs as a scare tactic. It's a pretty ruthless and brutal thing to do, and definitely not an accident or unintentional.

None as far as I know.

I'm not taking that video as an indictment of one side (pro or anti-mubarak), but rather just further proof of the degradation of the situation. It doesn't present anything new I guess, but its just crazy to see.

The video doesn't show what led up to the event. No use continuing to debate what happened since we can't know.

It is terrible if they are doing it intentionally. From both videos you can't make definitive assertions, though the second one would seemingly lend more credence to intentional ramming. It could be argued though, which Im not trying to defend anything just putting it out there, that in the second video they were just trying to get the fuck out of dodge and didnt want to wind up like Reginald Denny.

Live video is back. The square looks as dense as it was when they had over a million people.

    Come on Freegypt!

5:13pm First gunshots for the day just heard and pro-democracy protesters cheer as army arrests suspected Mubarak loyalists near Tahrir Square.

5:17pm Hundreds of thousands of people still protesting in Cairo and many other cities across the country, all defying the curfew that is still in place.

There was a report of a senior military officer visiting each military post in a limousine and talking to soldiers.
Could this be viewed as them "choosing a side" so to speak? Or maybe they just see the inevitable and have focused on keeping the violence at a minimum.

State TV has an (alleged) demonstrator saying that the Muslim Brotherhood is behind the demonstrations.

I would take continued propaganda as a sign that they're digging in.

Most important question was just asked: How are people there going to the bathroom?

Side streets now are the bathroom.

Oh God. They just quoted a guy with the pen name of Sand Monkey.

And a sign being held in a photo shown on screen:
"Mubarak. You are 83 years old.
    Get some rest.
    Give us some rest."

This allegedly says "Egypt is for everyone, Muslims and Christians."

I can't verify it myself, but I think the Crescent + Cross symbol means that's likely a true translation.

Dr. Nawal El Saadawi, a leading Arab feminist, with protesters in Tahrir Square.

The sign on the left says "musser" (egypt) on the top right, "2011" on the left, and the command "leave and never return!" on the right (literally "take a trip!").

Robert Gives is talking now. Apparently our position is that the Egyptian government needs to sit down with a broad group of oppositions leaders.

Egyptian government says they'll talk when the protesters leave. Protesters have said they'll leave and start talking when Mubarak leaves.

We're offering a position that sounds reasonable, but has already been ruled out by both sides. What a bunch of fucking pussies.

While there are certainly parts of the Middle East that treat women terribly, I was surprised by the role of women on Al Jazeera. I've seen three or four different anchors so far, all women, and the majority of reporters and correspondents have been women, including those embedded with the protesters.

Maybe it's because I'm watching the English version, but I don't think a bunch of woman-hating thugs would be too eager to talk to women reporters, especially since reporters are almost some sort of quasi-authority figure.
