I'm an asshole about shows/movies I enjoy, but I can't get away from these two beautifuly horrible movies.
A few times each year I find myself watching "Days of Thunder" for no reason whatsoever. I despise Nascar and haven't found anything particularly redeeming about Tom Cruise in years. I do have a theory that for every guy there is a blatantly cheesy Tom Cruise movie they secretly adore. For me, it's that one. If yours is Top Gun, I have some news for you:
My feelings towards house music are mixed, but I'm a pretty big fan of Avicii. I was going to say something about some pop artists too but I wouldn't say I genuinely enjoy their music, I just find it catchy. If I could I'd totally take some shrooms and go to a house music festival, it seems like it would be a fucking blast. I actively dislike desserts and candy. Like if trick-or-treating didn't mean I got to dress up like batman who gives a fuck? Cake? I'll only eat it if somebody I know made it and explicitly offers some to me so as not to offend them. Ice cream? Go fuck yourself, shit is terrible. Pretty much anything that is overly sweet. That said, I'd probably bury any one of you alive in the desert for some mother fucking zebra cakes. But only if they've been refrigerated / frozen.
My Ipod is full of Pantera, Tool, Korn, Slayer, System of a Down and Fear Factory. Yet I absolutely love the Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran song Everything Has Changed. I find myself singing it constantly. That and Katy Perry's Roar. I always have to balance those with 3-4 heavier songs. Just to wipe away the shame.
I have a playlist that consists of: Dionne Warwick (all Burt Bachrach tunes) The Fifth Dimension Tom Jones Neil Diamond Harry Belefonte Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass It's like my father's record collection seeped into my iPod.
I used to watch the current TV show Revenge. I was suckered in because they said it was inspired by "The Count of Monte Cristo". Even when it became glaringly evident that the show was mostly cliche plot and even worse lines, I still stuck because I wanted to see how it ended and I clearly had zero respect for myself. Thankfully I've moved on in more recent times.
I watch ABC's Nashville (Connie Britton, Hayden Paniterre, and Clare Bowen) and watch VH1's Single Ladies (LisaRaye, Charity Shae, Denise Vasi). Now I don't think these are as bad as people say they do, but I also watch Two and a Half Men & Charlie Sheen's new Anger Management. Noureen DeWulf is fucking fire. Don't care.
Since this is turning into a guilty pleasure thread: I have watched all three seasons of "Teen Wolf". It's fucking awesome, don't judge me. I will listen to Florence and the Machines for no apparent reason. Whew. That feels better.
As a rule, I hate sci-fi books. That said, I loved the Ender's Game & Ender's Shadow series. Probably because it was more focused on people than trying to "wow me" with fantastical concepts of new technology.
