Good tune with a cool story. That performance wowed those two enough to help get him a record deal. Doug Seegers Shares Homeless-to-Famous Journey
God damn Brandi Carlile and these twin Voldemorts sound good together. That high harmony in the chorus... fuck... Oh, what's that? You don't want anything without a bassline? Ok here's the best one ever:
Rush plays Losing It (from Signals) live. They played it a week or so ago in TO with original studio violinist Ben Mink. However, this version with Jonathan Dinklage (Peter's brother), is even better:
I'm a little bit in love with a few of Sam Hunt's songs right now, but my current favorite is probably "Break Up in a Small Town":
I have watched this set three times now. Eleanor Friedberger is amazing. I have a crush on her and the bass player. My favorite song that Eleanor has recorded as a solo artist, "Stare at the Sun," begins at 7:38, but the whole set is incredible.
I realize I might be a little late to the game about this, but I just found out that Monster Magnet released not one, but TWO new albums while I was away. If you have not already done so, you need to buy and listen to both of those albums right now, as I am going to do.
If you want to talk about chicks rocking out, there's nothing better. They have a new album which I haven't heard but holy fuck,
Disturbed is a huge guilty pleasure band for me. But I think he's an awesome vocalist. They covered Sound of Silence, which is think is a very out of character song for them. But I enjoyed it.
When I dropped my wheels off to be powdercoated yesterday, the guys in the shop were listening to some really hard-rockin' tunes. I asked who it was, and they said "Clutch." Clutch is one of those bands that I've always known about, but I never listened to, which is really odd, because I love stoner rock (Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu, The Sword, Kyuss, The Atomic Bitchwax, etc.). Man, I've been missing out for a long time by not listening to Clutch: ("D.C. Sound Attack!" is just amazing. Starts at 10:17)
