I've got a rotating background, mostly of still art frames of Assassin's Creed 2 and Dragon Age: Origins. But here are a few other good ones: Yes, I like Penny-Arcade.
Mine's a picture of the Vatican that I took on my vacation to Rome in April. We had special tickets to the Papal Audience and were seated on stage in the 2nd row, about 50 feet from him. I'm not that religious but I was raised Catholic and the whole experience was still very cool, religious or not.
This is what I have on my PC at home, looks pretty good on a 42" monitor: When I was in school I had interesting, if not a bit fucked up, wallpaper on my laptop, but I can't find it right now. It was a render of a girl with really big eyes and a bandage over her mouth, with blood splatter on the screen. It was cooler looking than it sounds, but probably wasn't the best thing to have on my desktop when I plugged my laptop into the projector one day to give a presentation to the class.
My icons aren't terribly interesting, so I'll just post it directly from where I got it. It's a pretty image, isn't it? It's also big. Fixed size, sorry shegirl. Spoiler That's an image of an ICBM/MIRV test. If those were actual devices, the color palette of the photo would be significantly oranger. The odds of this being used in its intended role are much lower than they were before I was born. Isn't a significantly reduced threat of nuclear annihilation great?
Current wallpaper; has been for almost a year. Spoiler EDIT: From this collection of great artistic scotch/whiskey bottle photographs
Anyone know of any good photography sites like the opacity.us one a few pages back with an RSS feed? I'd love to hook one of those up to my desktop for cool new images (I'm currently using the NASA image of the day: http://www.nasa.gov/rss/image_of_the_day.rss ).
