I think what Whores is trying to say is not that he has a problem that he did x,y,z, but rather that the guy finds it normal and acceptable to talk about very private, sexual things with someone who he doesn't know terribly well and who he, ideally, would be trying to impress. I think several people would be completely fine with an ex dating a guy who circle-jerked in his teenage years, and with that guy becoming involved in their son's life. That's all the information we have to go on - the way you're saying 'reminiscing' makes it seem like you have extra information that makes this wrong. Did he sidle up and whisper "I used to like watching young boys jerk off. I still do, but I used to as well" into her ear seductively or something? Are we missing important context needed to make this decision? And maybe what bewildered said too? Context! EDIT: Another bit of context - you specified the guys that lead these things as having those traits, but you've not said anywhere else that this guy the ex is dating was a leader, just that he did it. My point, again, is that based on the information you've given us, it seems pretty unreasonable to want the guy dead.
Ok really I want this topic to end. BUT this is a strange piece of information to volunteer. Imagine telling this to a girl you are starting to date, while out for a romantic evening. Unless you are involved in a game of weird-sexual-situation one upsmanship, this probably shouldn't come up. Also, assume that pretty much everyone is an overprotective parent, suspicious of a new person coming into their child's life (let alone a new father figure). Finally, consider that this board is a place for venting, for extremes, and for strangers to express bravado. You can't react like you would if your bestie said this to you over coffee.

Here are the facts, as you've told them to us: - This is your ex we're talking about. The one you've called numerous harsh names, and have had quite a bit of drama with. - This is her first relationship since you. Testing the waters, so to speak. - The fellow she's with works with children, which presumably required a pretty hardcore background check - He related some story about jerking off in front of other teenage boy(s), when he himself was a teenage boy. There are MANY possible scenarios here. Maybe she's baiting you with a story taken out of context, to get a rise out of you (in which case...success!). Maybe he's gay. Maybe he experimented as a younger adult. I don't see how ANY of that equals: - A threat to your son - Evidence of a sociopath - Evidence of a deviant - Shameful behaviour Calm the fuck down. You know you tend to get really wound up over little things, just because it's your nature. Your boy is in no danger, your ex is no longer your problem and this whole issue is no major catastrophe. The only way I'd argue differently is if there's more to his backstory that you aren't telling, in which case, we need more info to judge.
